Queen Starlight looks capable of making it two wins in a row when she steps out today at Pakenham.
The Zoustar filly hit the line to only just missed on debut here last month, before taking plenty of improvement into a lovely win over 1200m.
Fitter third-up, something like this certainly doesn’t look beyond her.
I thought Bilpa Morea was quite good at Doomben second-up from a spell, and she might not be offered a better opportunity to win than this.
The Reliable Man filly is yet to win in four trips to the races, but her latest performance in town was easily her best.
With further improvement and dropping back to country company today, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.
I Never Dreamed has only made one appearance at the races so far, but she couldn’t have been more impressive on debut, and she can continue her rise through the grades today at Pakenham.
The Shamus Award filly showed some promise at the trials prior to her debut, and she put the writing on the wall with a four-length romp at Swan Hill.
With natural improvement for that effort, something like this looks the next logical step for her to take.
Flying Mikki makes his return to the races in the last at Grafton today, and I think it’ll be a winning one.
The Mikki Isle gelding has made only one appearance at the races so far, but was a dominant winner at Doomben on that occasion.
The team have been patient with him, and he has had several trials in the lead-up to this return.
