Dublin Down has produced a superior turn of foot to win the Maribyrnong Plate.
Zac Purton had the two-year-old settled off the early pace set by popular betting favourite Admitted, and the horse responded well when asked for an extra effort to break his maiden in Group 3 company.

Race 2 – Listed Furphy Plate Results
Forgot You has justified his favouritism in betting to win the Furphy Plate.
The Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young-trained galloper attracted plenty of early interest in betting for this race, and after enjoying a nice run in transit, he was popped the question at the right time and ultimately won.
The run of the race arguably belonged to Warning, however, who hit the line to finish second, and who could be in for another quality preparation.

Race 3 – Listed TAB Trophy Results
Warmonger and Queen Of Dragons traded blows up the straight, but it was the former that just got there in a photo finish to Race 3 on Melbourne Cup Day!
The War Decree gelding was settled off the pace at just his third career start, hooking wide at the bend before running on to record his best win to date.
Trainer Mick Price outlined plans to target either a lucrative race at Cranbourne on Cup Day, or the Sandown Guineas at Warmonger’s next start.

Race 4 – The Schweppervescence Plate Results
Damien Oliver is on the board on his final Melbourne Cup Day after piloting Wiggum to success in the Schweppervescence Plate.
Wiggum is yet to turn in a poor performance, but he was sent off a $9 shot in what was clearly his toughest task to date.
He was on the right side of the track and kicked clear in the final 200m, sustaining through the line impressively.

She didn’t fire a shot at his last appearance in the Geelong Cup, but she relished racing on the big Flemington track today, and getting further out in trip.
Jamie Kah delivered a gem of a ride on the talented stayer, and he comfortably beat Mr Waterville and Garachico.

Race 6 – MSS Security Subzero Handicap Results
The Maggstar has mustered a big turn of foot to record an upset victory in the Subzero Handicap!
Craig Williams set a breakneck speed on Kooled and was the first one beaten 300m from home, but it set up the race for the swoopers like The Maggstar, who flashed late to beat race favourite Glint Of Silver.

Without A Fight is the 2023 Melbourne Cup winner!
The star stayer won the Caulfield Cup at just his second run back from a break, and proved that the two miles was absolutely no problem this afternoon, kicking clear under Mark Zahra, who rides his second-consecutive Melbourne Cup winner today, to beat Soulcombe and an incredible Sheraz.
It was a stunning ride from Zahra, who produced the son of Teofilo with 300m to travel and was greeted with an incredible turn of foot.
Soulcombe missed the start and was outstanding into second, while Sheraz stunned plenty of pundits, running into the placings at odds of $151.

Race 8 – Listed Howden Desirable Stakes Results
Roll On High was too good for them in the Desirable Stakes, leading home Joliestar and Kimochi to claim some deserved black type.
Billy Egan, who has been riding extremely well throughout 2023 Melbourne Cup Day, produced the horse at the 200m, kicking clear and greeting the judge comfortably in the clear.

Skew Wiff relished the 1400m at Flemington and powered to the line to win the Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes!
The New Zealand Group 1 winner looked a run short on debut in Australia on Caulfield Cup Day, but she is a mare that tends to enjoy sharp improvement with one under her belt, and she was too good today for Foxy Cleopatra and Forbidden City.

Race 10 – Paramount+ Trophy Results
Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young saddled a double on 2023 Melbourne Cup Day as Pascero stormed home in the last at odds of $41.
Earlier in the day, Young tipped the horse, saying that he had sharpened up for his most recent effort, and that was proven to be the case when he led home the well-backed Bermadez and Chorlton Lane.
