Premier League Game Week 8 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 8 Tips & Preview

The Premier League enters Gameweek 8, with only North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal yet to taste defeat.

The action gets underway at Kenilworth Rd, where Ange looks to take the Spurs to the top of the league (for a few hours at least)!

Elsewhere, Man U will be desperate to avoid three straight home defeats when they meet Brentford, Liverpool hope to bounce back against Brighton and Arsenal hosts Manchester City in the match of the round!

Our Offside Oracle has previewed all ten Premier League fixtures and provided his best bets below!

LUTON VS TOTTENHAM
Spurs to Win & Son to Score & Maddison 1+ SoT $3.32

The Spurs are just one of two Premier League outfits to remain undefeated this season after seeing off a 9-man Liverpool side 2-1 last time out.

After a tough spell of fixtures, Ange’s side will travel to Kenilworth Rd to take on the newly promoted Luton Town.

The Hatters, broke their EPL duck in GW6 by claiming a 2-1 victory over Everton in a game in which the losing side dominated every stat-line bar the score!

Since the departure of Harry Kane, new club captain Son Heung-Min has stepped up with six goals from seven league fixtures, only second in the league behind Haaland.

I’m backing Spurs to get the job done on the road here, with another goalscoring performance from Son and a shot on target from Maddison.

MAN UTD VS BRENTFORD
Brentford $5.00

It’s panic stations at Manchester United.

The Red Devils have lost three of their last four across all comps at Old Trafford, with defeats to Brighton, Crystal Palace and most recently handing Galatasaray their first ever win on UK soil!

The club is in complete disarray, from incompetent ownership, right down to ill-disciplined squad members, the wheels are officially off.

The Bees haven’t been in great shape themselves, but they’ll see this fixture as a fantastic opportunity to revamp their season.

I’m backing the Man U fans to be heading for the turnstiles after 60 minutes into this contest, with Brentford compounding the home side’s misery.

EVERTON VS BOURNEMOUTH
Under 2.5 $1.91

This fixture could have huge implications come the end of the season, with both sides struggling to pick up points across the opening seven fixtures.

Everton were bought back down to Earth last week, handing Luton Town their first ever Premier League win, although the Toffees were easily the better side on the day.

Meanwhile, the Cherries are still searching for their first W, and are staring down the barrel of three straight defeats.

The home side has won 10 of the last 12 meetings between this pair across all comps, though the Toffees are yet to claim a point from four attempts at Goodison Park.

Three of Everton’s four home games have seen under 2.5 goals scored, a trend I am backing to continue here.

FULHAM VS SHEFF UTD
Fulham and Under 3.5 Goals $2.30

This fixture looks like a no-brainer from a punting perspective, Sheffield are dead last on the table with one point from seven games, and have conceded 14 goals across their last three matches!

Alternatively, Fulham are 13th, with eight points to their name, losing to just Man City and Chelsea across their last seven game in all comps (3W,2D).

Fulham’s last three fixtures have seen under 2.5 goals scored, while the Blades have scored a league-low five goals on the season.

I’m backing the Cottagers to get up here, paired with under 3.5 total goals scored.

BURNLEY VS CHELSEA
Chelsea to Win to Nil $3.00

After a horrible start tot the season, Chelsea are looking to string together three straight wins across all comps.

No side has kept more clean sheets than Chelsea (3) in the league this season, while only Man City has conceded less goals.

Meanwhile, Burnley has been kept scoreless in three of their seven league fixtures this season, twice at home.

The Blues have won four of their last five games against the Clarets (1D), all of which were accompanied by a clean sheet.

CRYSTAL PALACE VS NOTTM FOREST
Draw $3.10

Two evenly matched, mid-table outfits are set to lock horns at Selhurst Park.

Forest are unbeaten in their last six fixtures against the Eagles (3W,3D), with their last two trips to Selhurst Park finishing as scoring draws.

Nottingham have drawn two of their last three Premier League appearances, and would be content with another point on the road.

Nothing separates these two sides on paper, and I’m backing it to look very similar on the field.

WEST HAM VS NEWCASTLE
Newcastle $2.10

The Hammers host the Toon in what looks to be an intriguing matchup.

West Ham sit just one point and one place above Newcastle on the PL table, though its the Magpies who are in red-hot form, winning three straight league fixtures with an aggregate of 11-0!

That is five straight clean sheets across all competitions for the Toon, including cup fixtures against Man City (1-0) and AC Milan (0-0).

Newcastle won their last trip to London Stadium 5-1 and I’m backing them to claim all three points once again.

BRIGHTON VS LIVERPOOL
Brighton $2.90

Get ready for fireworks!

The Reds undefeated start to the season came to a halt against the Spurs last time out, as Klopp’s side was on the receiving end of a horrendous VAR blunder, before going down to nine men through suspension!

Alternatively, Brighton were completely dismantled at the hands of Aston Villa, losing 6-1 with all 11 men on the pitch!

The Seagulls have won their last two fixtures against the Reds, with three goals scored in both matches.

Liverpool will be without Jones, Jota and Gakpo for this trip, leaving Klopp’s bench looking dangerously bare, especially if TAA is still out.

I’m backing Brighton to complete the turkey and claim their third straight W against the Reds.

WOLVES VS ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa $2.05

Two of game week seven’s big winners take to the field at Molineux Stadium.

Wolverhampton did the rest of the league a massive favour last weekend, when they delivered Man City their first defeat of the season, claiming a 2-1 victory, despite taking three shots to City’s 23!

Meanwhile, Villa put a dent in Brightons top-four aspirations, smashing the Seagulls 6-1, with Ollie Watkins claiming a hat trick!

Unlike the Wolves, there was no luck involved in Villa’s victory and I’m backing them to kick on with a fourth straight league win.

ARSENAL VS MAN CITY
Man City $2.30

Match of the season is here!

The apprentice takes on the master, as Arsenal hosts reigning champs Manchester City.

Man City enters this fixture off the back of a defeat, a result which doesn’t bode to well for the hosts, with the Sky Blues last losing back-to-back league games in December 2018!

If there was ever a good time to play the Citizens, it’s now, with key players Rodi (sus), KDB (injury), B. Silva (injury) & John Stones (injury) all set to miss the clash.

With Rodri missing, there’s an opportunity for Declan Rice to make the middle of the ground his own, with the likes of Nunes and Phillips yet to impress in the guts.

This fixture is almost impossible to pick, but with their backs against the wall, I believe Pep’s side could come out and deliver a statement performance here.

It’s rare to see City at over evens in the H2H market, an opportunity I will not be passing up.
