The finals hopes of one of these nations will be well and truly alive after Afghanistan and Sri Lanka go head-to-head at the Cricket World Cup on Monday night.
They’d lost ten matches in a row (across several World Cups) prior to beating England back on October 15th, but they performance has well and truly kicked them into gear, and they were also too good for Pakistan at their latest appearance.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, really do look to the best ‘best of the rest’ behind India, in terms of the subcontinent nations at this Cricket World Cup, and they also proved too strong for England on Thursday night to ultimately climb up into fifth on the table.
I don’t have as much between these two nations head-to-head as the bookies seem to, and I therefore think that the value lies in backing Afghanistan to win as outsiders.
