An interesting subcontinent clash sees Pakistan take on Afghanistan, and I think that there is a case to be built for both nations.
Pakistan step out tonight following a pretty comfortable loss to Australia on Friday night, in which openers David Warner and Mitch Marsh put on an absolute clinic, each scoring centuries. The wickets did eventually come for Pakistan, but that was a long first-wicket stand, and they’ll need to sharpen up to ensure that Afghanistan’s top order don’t send them for too many.
The Afghan’s pulled off one of the upsets of the Cricket World Cup so far over England, but they failed to frank that effort when losing to New Zealand at their latest.
It’s a great opportunity for Pakistan to bounce back, and players like Babar Azam to find a bit of form.
