An intriguing game early on Monday morning sees reigning world champions South Africa open their account against a very credible Scotland outfit.
The market will have you believe that this will be very one-sided, and while that could still be the case, I’m not entirely convinced.
South Africa, several times at recent World Cups, have slowly built to the task, and I’m sure they would have preferred to take on one of their Pool’s minnows before tackling a Six Nations opponent.
Scotland have experienced plenty of highs and lows in recent years, but they are good enough to win through to the Quarterfinals stage of the Rugby World Cup.
I’m expecting both sides to throw the ball around a lot, and Scotland can be competitive.

I cannot wait for Wales and Fiji to open their respective World Cup accounts on Monday morning.
Wales understandably are the second-favourites to progress from this Pool into the Quarterfinals stage, but I have taken the $2.25 available for Fiji, and I believe that their success starts with an upset in here.
While almost always competitive in Six Nations, the Welsh rarely look like a genuine World Cup threat, and I consider that to be the case again in 2023.
Fiji, meanwhile, have been playing some outstanding rugby of their own, and this is probably the strongest squad that they have fielded for many years.
