UFC Fight Night: Aspinall vs Tybura Tips & Preview

Dana White has not been shy in admitting he loves bringing the UFC to England and therefore we head to London AGAIN this weekend with a stacked card which includes Aussie Josh Culibao.

It does mean we need to rise early in Australia to watch with the Main Card starting at 5am AEST.

Our full UFC Fight Night: Aspinall vs Tybura Tips & Preview can be found below.

Tom Aspinall vs Marcin Tybura
Tom Aspinall by Submission @ $4.75

Local product Tom Aspinall will headline another English card but nothing went right the last time we saw him in July last year.

A knee injury in the very first round against Curtis Blaydes ended the fight which resulted in his first loss since 2016.

It was a disappointing way to end his eight fight win streak but he gets an opportunity to bounce back with a win in front of his home crowd here.

Marcin Tybura will play villain in London and enters the fight as a huge underdog.

He has earned a shot against a highly ranked opponent on the back of seven wins from his last eight fights in the UFC including wins over Walt Harris and Blagoy Ivanov among others.

This is a big step up in quality however and I think the local has the advantage both on the feet and on the canvas.

Aspinall is a high grade grappler and submission threat and that is where the value lies in my opinion.

Molly McCann vs Julija Stoliarenko
McCann by Points OR Stoliarenko by Sub @ $1.98

There will be no more popular fighter on the card than ‘Meatball’ Molly this weekend.

The Scouser has been one of the most popular fighters in the entire promotion despite only a so-so record if we are being honest.

She recovered from back to back losses to win three in a row including a vicious spinning back elbow in front of her home fans in March last year.

Fair play to her that she took on the very dangerous Erin Blanchfield late last year but she was quickly beaten via submission.

Julija Stoliarenko is a Lithuanian kickboxer who also has a black belt in BJJ from the Gracie Academy.

Us in Australia may know her for snapping the arm of Jessica Rose Clark in mid last year and nine of her 10 pro MMA wins have been via submission.

That is her only win from her last five fights and her UFC career may be in trouble with another loss.

This looks to me like the matchmakers have given the local a set up win but I will be hedging a bit because Julija Stoliarenko is a dangerous prospect should the fight go to ground.

Nathaniel Wood vs Andre Fili
Wood by Decision OR Fili by KO/TKO @ $1.72

Another English prospect on the main card in the form of Nathaniel Wood who is a former Cage Warriors champion who defended his Bantamweight title twice before joining the biggest promotion in MMA.

He has gone 6:2 since making his UFC debut back in 2018.

His opponent is Andre Fili who is far better fighter than his recent record on paper looks.

Two wins in his last six fights inside the octagon suggests he may not be up to this level of competition but this includes a No Contest and losses to very high quality fighters like Sodiq Yusuff and Bryce Mitchell both by decision.

Wood will start a sloid favourite but Andre Fili is very dangerous on the feet and I’m hedging again.
