Pakenham: Race 2 (1pm)
No. 5 Zousmic

Zousmic has improved for two starts back this time and is ready to break his maiden at Pakenham this afternoon.

The Peter Moody-trained gelding finished fifth, beaten more than three lengths at Ballarat first run back this time, before only just missing after flying late here at Pakenham.

Fitter third-up, I don’t think he’ll get a better opportunity to win than this.

Pakenham: Race 6 (3pm)
No. 2 Dick Whittington

Dick Whittington takes winning form into the sixth at Pakenham today and looks well placed to strike again.

The War Command gelding has improved noticeably with each of his three starts since joining the Phillip Stokes yard this year, culminating in a dominant performance at his latest.

He steps out today in peak order and can go on with it.

Pakenham: Race 7 (3:30pm)
No. 9 Hydro Star

Hydro Star has mixed his form a little this time, but he steps out in what looks to be a very suitable race today at full fitness.

The Headwater gelding filled the minors in three consecutive races before a luckless and somewhat flat effort here last time.

He drops in the weights today and is certainly up to the class, and we can have an each way play at current odds ($8 at publish).

Pakenham: Race 9 (4:30pm)
No. 3 Keefneedsafeed

Keefneedsafeed was well beaten in his first start back this time, but this is a decent drop in grade and a great opportunity for him to bounce back into winning form.

The Akeed Mofeed gelding showed plenty of promise during his brief debut prep, winning on debut before only just missing in BM64 company.

With natural improvement, this looks a logical target for him.
