Daily Racing Tips – South Grafton Cup Day Edition

Grafton: Race 2 (12:50pm)
No. 1 Tanglewood

Tanglewood does face a small rise in the weights today at Grafton, but he couldn’t have been more impressive with 60kgs in tow at Taree last time, and I think he’ll be making it two in a row.

The son of Smart Missile made just two appearances during his debut prep, placing in a Wyong maiden most notably, but returned a clearly improved type last month.

Any improvement on his fresh run, which resulted in a five-length victory, and he’ll just be winning again.

Grafton: Race 5 (2:35pm)
No. 2 Collection Point

Collection Point was a little out of his depth at Eagle Farm last time out, but this looks a far more appropriate race for him.

The Lee Freedman-trained gelding filled the minors in three starts leading up to his run in town, only just missing in a similar race to this one at Lismore two starts back.

He’s in peak order and importantly, he should relish the rain-affected track today.

Grafton: Race 7 (3:55pm)
No. 2 Ucalledit

Ucalledit takes winning form into the South Grafton Cup, and I think that he’s going to take a power of beating again.

The Kris Lees-trained galloper did finish down the order at his first few runs back this time, but he mustered an eye-catching turn of foot to charge through at Randwick last time out.

He is clearly now in peak order and this is a weaker race.

Grafton: Race 8 (4:35pm)
No. 3 Wonderwhen

Wonderwhen takes improvement into her second campaign start today and appears primed to strike.

The Denman mare has been a great horse for the Daniel Want yard since debuting, recording three wins and a further eight minors from her thirteen career starts.

She worked home well to fill the minors at Beaudesert when resuming, and she boasts a strong second-up record.
