Narrandera: Race 1 (12:30pm)
No. 1 This Is The Moment

Narrandera has improved for two starts since debuting and can break his maiden at Narrandera this afternoon.

He raced greenly and finished down the order at Albury late last month, but he enjoyed plenty of benefit for that experience and was only denied by one at Wagga last time.

Fitter third-up, I think that this looks his opportunity to strike.

Werribee: Race 4 (1:55pm)
No. 4 Starwisp

Starwisp was an impressive winner out at Wodonga last time out, and this race at Werribee looks the next logical step for him to take.

Starwisp has continued to improve with racing this time in, and he gave them windburn in maiden company last time out after only just missing at his start prior.

He’s rock-hard fit, proven on a rain-affected surface, and he can win again.

Werribee: Race 7 (3:55pm)
No. 4 Tax Free Prophet

Tax Free Prophet stormed home to beat a few more fancied rivals at Mornington last time out, and he looks well placed to make it two in a row today.

The Jason Warren-trained gelding does tend to improve with a couple of runs under his belt, but his performance in BM70 company last time out was amongst the best of his career.

Importantly, he too is proven on a rain-affected track, and he’ll get some relief in the weights today under Luke Campbell.

Werribee: Race 8 (4:35pm)
No. 1 Brave Star

The last at Werribee today looms as one of the more open races on the program, and I thought that Brave Star looked a key winning chance at a price ($9 at publish).

The five-year-old gelding has been notable performer since making his debut, but a move to Phillip Stokes’ care this time paid immediate dividends when he led them home here at Werribee earlier this month.

He’s a second-up winner and excels on a heavy track, and we can have an each way play today.
