Joon Ho steps out for just the second time at Pakenham this afternoon, but I think he can break his maiden.
The Jimmy Creed gelding showed promise at the trials prior to debuting and worked home well to finish only a length behind the winner here earlier this month.
With improvement for that experience and under Jake Noonan, he can begin his rise through the grades.
I’m confident that Dundancer can make a winning return to the races today.
The Dundeel filly made three appearances at the races during her debut prep, all solid efforts here at Pakenham that resulted in fourth placings.
She has reportedly relished her time away from the track, and this looks a lovely launchpad for her.
I thought that Governor Landy looked a bit of value in Race 7 at Pakenham today ($9 at publish).
The Reliable Man gelding hasn’t won in more than a year, but he has continued to improve with racing recently, and he only just missed a placing in a similar contest at Moe last time.
He’s rock-hard fit, gets some relief in the weights today, and we can have an each way play at the price.
Mambo Dancer will appreciate a drop in class and a return to a track with a turn this afternoon!
The Peter Moody-trained filly led and was too good for them on debut at Cranbourne last month, but she got lost down the straight at Flemington at her only other start and failed to beat a runner home.
Fitter third-up and back to something like this, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.
