UFC Fight Night: Pavlovich v Blaydes

UFC Fight Night: Pavlovich v Blaydes

UFC Fight Night is once again upon us and MMA fans will be up and about for this weekend’s fight card!

The 3rd and 4th ranked Heavyweights will slug it out in the main event. The last time we saw Pavlovich he defeated our own Tai Tuivasa, so the Russian may not have many fans down under.

Blaydes has won four of his last five fights and is returning to the octagon after his 15-second TKO win over Tom Aspinall last year. Fans will remember how disappointing that fight was — Aspinall tore his meniscus 15 seconds into the fight.

I’ve run my eyes over the main event, and here’s how I think this one will go down!

Pavlovich v Blaydes
Pavlovich in the First Round @ $4

It’s an incredibly even matchup on paper, both have 17 wins. Height (and obviously weight) all lines up well.

Sergei has a 4 Inch reach on Blaydes and that may be a huge factor in this one. Pavolich has 14 first round finishes, all of them by KO. We could be in for a short and sweet fight here.

Blaydes certainly isn’t no scrub, he’s the $1.57 favourite in this fight and has 12 KO finishes himself but for me it’s hard to look past Pavlovich. Curtis hasn’t fought since that “fight” fight with Aspinall last year and that one barely got going.

Meanwhile the Sergei is in fighting form and in my opinion, on the rise. I’m backing him for a win in the first round at $4. I’m also very happy to back him outright at $2.40 as a bit of a cover.

Looking forward to this one a lot!
