Premier League Game Week 31 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 31 Tips & Preview

The run home continues to gain momentum, and another ten matches await in Game Week 31 of the Premier League!

The action kicks off in the Midlands on Saturday night when Villa and Newcastle lock horns.

These two clubs have been the Premier League’s big movers this season, and both remain firmly in the framework for European football qualification.

Manchester City can continue Leicester City’s woes when they meet at the Etihad, while Arsenal, who dropped points to Liverpool earlier this week, will need to overcome West Ham, fresh off a win over Fulham.

Read on to my Premier League Tips below!

Aston Villa vs Newcastle
Draw ($3.30)

In my opinion, the match of the round comes up first – Villa and Newcastle locking horns in the Midlands on Saturday night AEST.

I doubt anyone would have picked both of these clubs to be in the top six at this point of the season, at the beginning of it, but here we are!

Both clubs are on a long winning streak, and the fact that this is being played AT Villa really does square the ledger from my perspective.

Chelsea vs Brighton
Draw ($3.25)

A really interesting fixture and at publish, the bookies can’t split them!

Chelsea clearly haven’t enjoyed their best season on record, and things have probably only gotten worse since Graham Potter was sacked.

They’re winless in their last four league matches now, and that was compounded by a midweek Champions League loss to Real Madrid.

Brighton, meanwhile, continue to enjoy one of their better Premier League campaigns, and European qualification is still well and truly on the table.

If this was in Brighton, I’d probably lean that way, but it isn’t.

Everton vs Fulham
Everton to Win ($2.05)

Everton remain perilously close to the drop zone, and nothing short of a win in matches like this one is required for them to stay in England’s top league.

One win from their last seven league matches really doesn’t bode by, but they have been salvaging some points from draws.

Fulham will almost certainly stay up this season, but they have well and truly dropped out of form recently, losing each of their last four Premier League fixtures.

Everton won’t be offered many better opportunities than this, and I think they’ll take it.

Southampton vs Crystal Palace
Palace to Win ($2.60)

Southampton are down, out and untippable.

For more than a decade, the Saints have etched out a position as a Premier League mainstay, but it is extremely difficult to imagine that extending beyond the current campaign.

They’ve won only six times in thirty matches have been particularly poor of late.

Palace, meanwhile have returned a season that has been typical of their since their return to the Premier League, and will almost certainly finish mid-table.

They’re chasing a hat-trick this week, and I think they’ll get it!

Wolves vs Brentford
Over 3.5 Goals ($4.25)

Wolves take on Brentford in another intriguing Game Week 31 fixture.

They were dancing worryingly close to the drop zone (and still are) until recording a vital win over Chelsea last week, and another in Game Week 31 would be enormous.

Brentford were slow from the blocks, but they did enough throughout the middle stages of the season to almost assure themselves survival.

Good thing, because they’re winless from their last four, and are starring down the barrel of a hat-trick of losses.

Expecting plenty of goals in this one!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Bournemouth
Spurs to Nil ($2.50)

One of the most one-sided matches of the weekend will take place between Spurs and Bournemouth in London, if betting is to be believed.

Tottenham currently sit fifth on the ladder, and broke a two-match winless streak with a potentially important one over Brighton last week.

The Cherries are by no means assured survival this year, and they need to pull points wherever possible.

This looks to be open and shut, in my opinion.

Manchester City vs Leicester City
City 4-0 ($9.50)

Betting suggests that the most one-sided match of the round will materialise between Manchester City and Leicester City, and it’s not hard to see why.

Leicester are in real danger of becoming only the second club to win the Premier League and also be demoted from it, and they enter Game Week 31 second-last on the ladder and four points adrift of safety.

City closed the gap slightly on Arsenal by winning again in Week 30, and realistically, they’ll win handsomely again here. I’m going to have something of a throw at the stumps with an exact score bet.

West Ham United vs Arsenal
Gabriel Jesus Anytime Goal ($2.63)

The Gunners have left the door slightly cracked open, but they can close it a little more again by beating London rivals West Ham this weekend.

Their eight-point lead over City turned into six when they drew 2-2 with Liverpool earlier this week, and they simply need to win this to ensure the choke isn’t on.

The Hammers haven’t been at the best this season, but they’ve taken a few big scalps, and they do take their place in this one in winning form after knocking off Fulham last week.

It’s a big ask, but I do think that the Hammers are a slight chance of a draw, so I am staying away from match betting.

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United
United to Win ($1.62)

United look to have found their rhythm again, and they can continue Forest’s woes in Game Week 31.

They’re not even a shadow on an Alex Ferguson United side, but there have been plenty of promising signs for the red half of Manchester this season, and they are a great chance of Champions League Qualification.

Forest meanwhile look destined to drop back to The Championship, and they’ve hardly fired a shot through the last month of competition.

United can win again.

Leeds United vs Liverpool
Same Game Multi

The final match of the week comes way of Yorkshire on Tuesday morning, and Leeds United have their work cut out for them in Liverpool.

Demotion looked a serious threat for much of last season and this one as well, and they do remain only two points clear of the drop zone heading into this clash.

Liverpool have also dropped in class this campaign and are winless from their last four matches, but they’ve still been good enough to sit eighth in overall standings, and they did take points off league leaders Arsenal last week.

All of that considered, Liverpool probably wins this one comfortably.
