Premier League Game Week 28 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 28 Tips & Preview

We are forced to deal with a disrupted Premier League slate this weekend, with three fixtures postponed due to FA Cup ties.

Fortunately, we’re treated to a couple of rescheduled mid-week fixtures on top of the seven Game Week 28 matches.

Our VAR virtuoso has done the form across all nine Premier League fixtures, sharing his best betting plays below!

BRIGHTON VS CRYSTAL PALACE (GW7)
Brighton to Win & Over 2.5 Goals $2.21

Brighton and Crystal Palace meet on Thursday morning to play out a postponed Game Week 7 fixture.

The Eagles are now winless across their last ten league fixtures (5D,5L), leaving themselves just three points above the drop zone.

Alternatively, the Seagulls are breathing down the neck of Liverpool, sitting just outside the European qualifying spots in 7th.

This fixture finished in a 1-1 stalemate at Selhurst Park a month ago, now with a home-ground advantage I’m backing the Seagulls to clip the Eagles’ wings.

SOUTHAMPTON VS BRENTFORD (GW8)
Draw $3.20

The Saints take on the Bees in another postponed fixture, with the home side looking to rise above the drop zone for the first time since November 7!

Surprisingly, Brentford’s huge 12-game unbeaten run finally ended against the Toffees over the weekend, putting a real dent in their top-six hopes.

Southampton has seen an uplift in form, claiming seven competition points across their last four league games, compared to 12 fixtures required to claim their previous seven points.

The Bees have only won two of 12 fixtures on the road this season, with no side drawing more away games since GW1 (6).

Though momentum is on the Saints’ side here, I can’t justify taking them outright, instead, I’ll back the Draw at what looks to be decent value.

NOTTM FOREST VS NEWCASTLE
Nottm Forest or Draw $2.15

The Toon look to secure back-to-back league wins for the first time since GW16 when they travel south to take on Forest.

Forest enters this fixture hoping to put a halt to their five-game winless streak (2D,3L), a run which has left them just two competition points above the drop zone.

Despite a dip in form, Notts has gone undefeated across their last nine PL fixtures at The City Ground (4W,5D), a run which includes results against Liverpool (W), Chelsea (D), and Man City (D)!

The Toon has drawn their last three games against sides sitting in the bottom six while remaining winless across their last four away fixtures (3D,1L).

I’m backing Forest to secure at least one point in front of their home supporters, with the Toon sliding further away from a top-four finish.

BRENTFORD VS LEICESTER
Brentford $1.95

The Bees host a Foxes outfit who are looking to avoid five straight league defeats!

Leicester’s run of four defeats has been accompanied by just one goal for, and eight goals against, leaving Rodgers’ side sitting above the drop zone on goal difference alone.

Meanwhile, the Bees are just four points adrift of the top six (at publish, 15/4), suffering just one defeat at home across the entire season (7W,5D).

The Foxes are devoid of all confidence at the moment, I can’t see them turning things around at the hostile Gtech Community Stadium.

WOLVES VS LEEDS
Both Team to Score $1.95

Leeds is out to complete a double over the Wolves and climb out of the relegation zone in doing so.

Both sides have criminally underperformed this season, following big transfer windows both minnows would have had top 10 aspirations, instead, they’ve been dragged into the dog scrap which is the relegation battle.

“Both teams to score” has hit in the three league meetings between this pair, with Leeds winning the last two outings.

I’m backing both sides to find the score sheet once again, with either team a chance to claim a valuable win.

SOUTHAMPTON VS TOTTENHAM
Tottenham and Under 3.5 Goals $2.50

The Spurs look to consolidate their place in the top four by completing the double over the relegation-threatened Saints.

Tottenham has largely been inconsistent of late, though a promising offensive showing against Forest will leave their fans optimistic ahead of their fixture against the Saints, who they put four past last time out!

Alternatively, Southampton has been reliant on their defense to secure points of late, concerning just one goal across their last four league starts (at publish 15/4).

I’m backing the Spurs to sneak past the Saints in what should be a low-scoring affair.

ASTON VILLA VS BOURNEMOUTH
Bournemouth or Draw $2.15

Villa looks to even the ledger when they play host to giant killers Bournemouth.

The Cherries enter this fixture fresh off the back of a 1-0 victory over the Reds, a victory which saw them pull clear of the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, Villa was held to a 1-1 draw on the road to West Ham, taking their unbeaten league run to three games (2W,1D).

Surprisingly, the Cherries have won their last four league meetings against Aston Villa, with three such victories accompanied by a scoreline of 2-1!

I’m backing Bournemouth to continue their reign over the Villans, claiming at least a point from their travels.

CHELSEA VS EVERTON
Chelsea to nil $2.05

Has Graham Potter finally turned things around at Chelsea? Three straight wins across all comps suggest they’re heading in the right direction.

They’ll face another side who is beginning to turn their fortunes around, with the Toffee’s bidding to claim back-to-back PL victories for the first time since GW7 & 8.

History is on the Londoners’ side in this fixture, with Everton’s last league win at Stamford Bridge coming way back in 1994!

The last five meetings between this pair have all seen under 2.5 goals scored.

I’m backing defense to dominate this matchup once again, with the home holding out for all three points.

ARSENAL VS CRYSTAL PALACE
HT/FT Arsenal/Arsenal $1.91

Game Week 28 wraps up with a London Derby between two sides on opposite trajectories.

Arsenal has won their last five PL fixtures, holding Man City at bay, five competition points adrift in second place.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace is winless in 11 games across all competitions (at publish 15/4) and at risk of sleepwalking into relegation!

The Gunners have led at the break in 12 of their 21 league victories this season, a feat I am backing them to repeat here.
