Mornington: Race 2 (2pm AEDT)
No. 6 Good Vintage

Good Vintage is ready to break his maiden when he steps out at Mornington today.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding has mixed his form a little in four starts since debuting, but he hit the line well to only just miss at Newcastle two starts back, before finishing three lengths off the winner at Hawkesbury last time, returning from a freshen up.

I’m expecting good improvement for that hit-out and I am keen to see him today at the Victorian way of going.

Mornington: Race 5 (3:30pm AEDT)
No. 3 Magical Slipper

Magical Slipper makes her eagerly awaited return to the races at Mornington today, and she will take plenty of beating.

The Swear filly made only one appearance during her debut prep and simply couldn’t have been more impressive, kicking clear at Pakenham to record a three-length win.

This looks an ideal launchpad for her and she is drawn to receive every chance.

Mornington: Race 7 (4:30pm AEDT)
No. 1 Diasonic

Diasonic can return to winning form at Mornington this afternoon.

It has been a while between drinks for the six-year-old son of Reset, but he has stripped fitter for two starts back this time, and does tend to improve with a couple of runs under his belt.

This is probably the easiest task that he has been set this time, and he might not be offered a better opportunity to strike.

Mornington: Race 8 (5pm AEDT)
No. 8 Sarnia

Sarnia has been a consistent performer since transferring to the care of Reece Goodwin, and she looms as a winning chance today at Mornington at a lovely price ($12 at publish).

Sarnia was a dominant winner in BM58 company back in January, and she has been freshened since recording consecutive placings in similar races.

She gets into this race well and we can have an each way play at the quote.
