Daily Racing Tips – Sunday, March 19

Scone: Race 7 (4:45pm AEDT)
No. 12 Lisztomania

The classy Lisztomania will go around in this afternoon’s open Country Championships Qualifier at Scone, and I think he’ll book his ticket to Royal Randwick by winning.

The Dream Ahead gelding returned with a nice effort to finish second, beaten a nose at Doomben when resuming back in December, and he returned from a freshen up to win at Port Macquarie last month.

Freshness is clearly the key to him, and he should receive every chance today from an inside draw.

Yarra Valley: Race 7 (4:55pm AEDT)
No. 1 Herman Hesse

I like Herman Hesse to win this afternoon’s Yarra Valley Cup.

The Frankel gelding has picked off some nice races throughout his twenty-seven career starts, but he clearly needed his first run back this time behind Munhamek at Flemington a couple of weeks ago.

He is a horse that tends to enjoy big improvement with a run under his belt, and this does look to be an easier race.

Scone: Race 8 (5:25pm AEDT)
No. 12 Melody Again

I’m with Melody Again in the last at Scone today.

Melody Again has made only two appearances at the races so far, but she stamped herself as one to watch by winning on debut here at Scone back in November, and she was unlucky to only just miss first-up at Dubbo a couple of weeks ago.

I like that she has been back to the trials since that race, and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again today.

Yarra Valley: Race 8 (5:35pm AEDT)
No. 2 Outback Action

Outback Action makes his return to the races in the last at Yarra Valley today, and I think it looks a nice launchpad for him.

Outback Action has recorded two wins and as many placings from his six trips to the races, and he has been particularly good at this point of his preparation.

With even luck, I think he’ll prove too good for this lot.
