We’re off to Rosehill Gardens on Saturday for another quality ten-race program!
We managed to unearth a few winners in Sydney last week, and I am confident in having found a few more below in my Rosehill Gardens Tips.
Just two of the twelve confirmed starters in Race 1 at Rosehill on Saturday have previous experience and several debutants are prominent in betting.
I am happy to stay out of this one, with a view towards something later in the season.
Kalino was an impressive winner at Randwick last time out and looks capable of making it two in a row this week.
The Pierro gelding has been a strong and consistent performer throughout his campaign, and was rewarded in a similar race at his last appearance, greeting the judge more than two lengths ahead of his rivals.
He gets some relief in the weights this week under Dylan Gibbons and needs only even luck to be in the finish again.
The talented Eastern Glow gets his chance in a Highway race this week, and he’s the one that I want to be with.
The Your Song gelding has made four appearances at the races, winning three times and finishing second on the other occasion, and he returned from a break to strike in Class 2 company at Moruya last month.
This is obviously a decent rise in class, but he’s open to plenty of improvement, and this grade doesn’t look beyond him.
Ringmaster has been a good horse for Michael Freedman since debuting, and he strikes a winnable race at Rosehill on Saturday.
The Zoustar gelding stamped himself as one to watch during his two-year-old season, placing in black type company and ending is prep a credible seventh, beaten less than two length in Group 1 company.
He raced solely in featured company in the spring and wasn’t disgraced, and he returned a winner at Canterbury on New Year’s Day.
He’s open to plenty of improvement, and this looks the next logical step for him.
There is a case to be made for a few of them in this BM72 Handicap, including Royal Merchant.
Royal Merchant recorded consecutive wins at Canterbury and Randwick-Kensington when resuming this time, and she was unlucky not to strike in a similar race over 1400m at Randwick on Boxing Day.
She steps out this week in peak order and can certainly make her presence felt again in something like this.
The consistent Kibosh will go around in the sixth at Rosehill on Saturday, and I think that it looks a great opportunity for her to strike in metro company.
The So You Think mare ended her last prep with consecutive wins at Kembla Grange and Warwick Farm respectively, and she has finished second at her first two back this time.
I like that she has been back to the trials since her most recent effort behind Never Second at Gosford, and she gets the services of a standout rider this week in Kerrin McEvoy.
Midwest can strike third-up at Rosehill this week.
The Team Freedman-trained gelding was nearly faultless last time in, recording six wins in seven starts, highlighted by the VOBIS Gold Dash.
He has stripped fitter for two competitive starts back this time and is ready to win.
Major Artie strips fitter for a fair first-up effort at Randwick on New Year’s Eve, and this looks a nice race for him.
The Artie Schiller gelding found form around some talented gallopers last time in, and races like this one were his bread and butter.
He was just over half a length behind the winner first-up from a spell, while he’ll relish getting out to 1500m second-up, and some relief in the weights under Dylan Gibbons.
Maurice’s Medad looks well graded in the penultimate race at Rosehill on Saturday.
He’s always hinted at ability without putting it all together, but Maurice’s Medad has returned some nice efforts again this time in, and struck at Taree back in November, while I thought that there was a lot to like about his effort for third at Randwick on New Year’s Eve.
He steps out in peak order this week, is drawn to receive a lovely run, and we can have an each way play at the price.
Snapped takes winning form into the last at Rosehill on Saturday and can win again.
The Not A Single Doubt mare returned some lovely performances throughout her spring prep, but returned with arguably her best performance to date to win by nearly three lengths at Sandown.
With any improvement for that hit-out, I think she’ll take a power of beating in something like this.
