Nursery Chime is a lightly raced mare out of the Lloyd Kennewell yard that has made an impression in six starts to date.
He returned from a freshen-up to win convincingly here at Cranbourne over much further back in April and was quickly sent back to the paddock in time for the summer.
The four-year-old has run a place in two of his three starts first-up and was runner-up over this trip at Kyneton earlier in the year. Rates a decent chance in an open race.
I’m quite keen to see Teser out to the mile for the first time.
This lightly-raced son of Reset has ran some honest races, most recently at Sandown where he gave good chase after copping some interference at the top of the straight to finish a length fourth.
He might find this slightly easier after racing in town and I think the wide gate might actually aid him to get back and run on.
Calico Jack’s runs have been spaced but he does warrant plenty of respect stepping out at Cranbourne, the sight of his maiden win three back.
He’s since gone on to run sixth in a tougher race at Sandown earlier in the month, a performance worth forgiving after he was held up at the top of the straight.
Back to 1300m looks ideal for him now, especially from a nice soft draw.
Adament has drawn less than ideally but comes into this contest with a slight fitness edge over some of her rivals.
The Hellbent filly hit the line hard to finish a narrow runner-up at Moe over shorter a few weeks ago, while she was also a dominant winner first-up at Casterton.
This looks the next logical step for her and she gets in quite well at the weights Matthew Chadwick’s claim put to good use.
