I’m confident that the resuming Marelle can kick us off with a win at Randwick-Kensington this afternoon.
Marelle made just one appearance at the races during her debut prep and worked home well to finish fourth, beaten just over a length here at Randwick-Kensington.
Her recent trial hinted at improvement, and this looks a nice kick-off point.
I concede that early favourite Comrade Rosa will prove difficult to beat, but Irish Kisses is rock-hard fit and looks the value here in my opinion ($10 at publish).
Irish Kisses has improved with each of her four starts back this time, culminating in an eye-catching win at Newcastle last time out.
This is harder, but Kerrin McEvoy has options from the rails draw and we can have an each way play at the quote.
Micro is another resuming runner with winning claims in Sydney today.
The Medaglia D’oro gelding returned to the races only once at his last preparation, finishing midfield in BM72 company at Warwick Farm, but he stepped out in far tougher races the campaign prior and wasn’t disgraced.
James Cummings has been patient with him, and his recent trials have been good.
This’llbetheone looks a bit of value in a wide-open race at Randwick-Kensington this evening.
The Exceed And Excel gelding filled the minors behind Robusto on the main course here at Randwick when resuming, and he was too good for a BM64 field at Newcastle last time.
Fitter third-up, he need only continue with his improving condition to be in the finish again.
