Race 1 – Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate Results
Krakarib has led all the way in the Maribyrnong Plate!
The Simon Zahra-trained juvenile raced greenly on debut and had five lengths to make up on this morning’s favourite, Zulfiqar, and he did so in impressive fashion.

Race 2 – The Macca’s Run Results
White Marlin has given them a galloping lesson in The Macca’s Run.
When they passed the post the first time, he was caught wide, and it looks possible that White Marlin would turn into a hard luck story.
Jockey Tim Clark found a position and settled in behind the early leaders, got the horse into a lovely rhythm and was a passenger as the horse put them away 400m from home.

Race 3 – Resimax Group Subzero Handicap Results
Love Tap’s class was too good for his rivals in the yearly race for Greys.
He hadn’t been seen at the races since August, but he was a previous fresh winner and did look well placed on Cup Day.
After enjoying a lovely run in transit, jockey Blake Shinn produced him at the top of the straight and he was ultimately too good for Kooled and Struck By.

Race 4 – TAB Trophy Results
High Approach dug deep to record a tough win in Race 4!
The son of Highland Reel hit the front with 200m to travel and was joined by the Chris Waller-trained Lindermann, but he responded impressively when asked for an extra effort by Ben Melham.
It was an extremely lucrative trifecta, with the winner paying a cool $19 at Neds and beating home two $4 placegetters.

Race 5 – The Schweppervescence Plate Results
$35 shot Renosu has led home stable mate Kin to claim a Godolphin quinella in the fifth on Melbourne Cup Day.
The Exceed And Excel gelding took a prominent position in running near the outside rail and was allowed to go through his gears before asked for an extra effort.
As Kin kicked clear on the inside of the field, Renosu produced the superior turn of foot to get the chocolates.

Race 6 – Furphy Plate Results
Another longer priced winner in the sixth on Melbourne Cup Day as Bartholomeu Dias beat home Just Folk.
The talented import has had a new lease on life since transferring to the care of Annabel Neasham, and today’s victory was his best in some time.
Tommy Berry got him into the clear at the top of the straight and locked in a fierce sprint battle with the eventual second placegetter, ultimately greeting the judge ahead.
Neasham and jockey Tommy Berry will next combine with Numerian in the 2022 Melbourne Cup.

Race 7 – 2022 Melbourne Cup Results
Gold Trip is the 2022 Melbourne Cup winner.
The talented import has been a strong and consistent performer this time in, and he was enormous in the Caulfield Cup, but went to another level to beat Emissary and High Emocean this afternoon.
He jumped well, and Mark Zahra settled him within the field as Serpentine and Smokin’ Romans dictated early terms.
Pinching lengths as the field turned for home, it looked as though Melbourne Cup favourite Deauville Legend would kick clear and win easily, but Gold Trip owned the superior staying performance, and he etched his name in the history books.

Race 8 – In Memory Of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Results
Detonator Jack has completed an ideal return to the races in the eighth on Melbourne Cup Day.
The talented gelding stamped himself as one to watch during his debut prep, winning his first three starts before ending his prep third in the Group 1 SA Derby.
He settled in the behind the pace at HQ this afternoon, and he responded with a huge turn of foot to swallow up the likes of Munhamek when asked for more!
