Daily Racing Tips – Monday, October 31

each way
Ballarat: Race 4 (3pm AEDT)
No. 4 Pontmeirion

I’m confident that Pontmeirion will take plenty of improvement into his second campaign start at Ballarat today and can fight out the finish.

The Sweynesse gelding has only placed once in five previous trips to the races, but did improve with a couple of start under the belt last time in.

There doesn’t look to be any real stars engaged today and we can have an each way play at the price ($9 at publish).

Ballarat: Race 6 (4pm AEDT)
No. 4 Amfissa

Amfissa will have his second start for Dane Smith at Ballarat this afternoon and can win.

The son of Mongolian Khan returned some nice efforts for the Waller stable through the early stages of his career, and he hit the line to finish second, beaten less than half a length here when resuming.

With improvement, I think he’ll take a power of beating.

Ballarat: Race 7 (4:30pm AEDT)
No. 3 Getonthebeers

Getonthebeers takes winning form into the seventh at Ballarat this afternoon and looks capable of making it two in a row.

The popular galloper has had three starts since transferring to the care of Brittany Raymond, improved for each of his three starts, culminating in a smart win at Casterton last time.

This is harder, but it looks the next logical step.

best bet
Ballarat: Race 8 (5pm AEDT)
No. 6 Redzoust

Redzoust is chasing a hat-trick when he lines up in the last at Ballarat today.

The Zoustar gelding broke his maiden in dominant fashion here two starts back and franked that performance with another easy win in a 0-64 race last time.

He steps out today in peak order and is my best bet of the day.
