2022 Kennedy Oaks Day Tips & Preview

2022 Kennedy Oaks Day Tips & Preview

The penultimate program of the 2022 Flemington Carnival – following on from Tuesday’s time-honoured Melbourne Cup race – features the Kennedy Oaks and a further eight races on Thursday!

I’ve dug deep into the form of every runner and race, and you can find my complete 2022 Kennedy Oaks Day Tips below!

TCL TV Stakes (1700m) – 12:40pm AEDT
No. 1 Artika

Artika takes winning form into the TCL TV Stakes, and it looks another lovely race for her.

The Snitzel mare finished third, beaten two lengths at Sandown when resuming this time, but enjoyed big improvement into a smart win on Moe Cup Day.

Fitter third-up and slightly further out in trip, I think she’ll take beating.

Group 3 Darley Ottawa Stakes (1000m) – 1:15pm AEDT
No. 2 Charm Stone

I’m going to stick with Charm Stone second-up in the Ottawa Stakes.

The pricey filly contested the Maribyrnong Trial here on debut, and I thought that she returned a nice effort to finish third.

She’s been back to the trials since that appearance and will enjoy plenty of improvement for the experience.

Inglis Bracelet (1600m) – 1:50pm AEDT
No. 12 Climbing Star

Climbing Star clearly has plenty of talent and she is the one for me in the Inglis Bracelet.

The Zoustar filly showed potential at the trials and put the writing on the wall with an easy win on debut at Cranbourne in late September.

She followed up that performance an agonisingly close second beating Zoe’s Promise in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic, and this looks to be a weaker race.

Listed Desirable Stakes (1400m) – 2:30pm AEDT
No. 7 Amati

Amati is over the odds in Desirable Stakes betting in my opinion ($19 at publish).

The Chris Waller-trained filly is yet to strike in three starts back from a spell, but she has improved for each, and she was last seen finishing a credible fourth behind A Lot More Love in the Listed Reginald Allen.

She steps out this week in peak order, Flemington looks ideal for her, and the booking of James McDonald certainly doesn’t hinder her chances.

Cirka Trophy (1800m) – 3:10pm AEDT
No. 9 Douceur

She has drawn awkwardly, but I thought that this looked a suitable race for Douceur, and she’s ready to do something third-up from a spell.

The No Nay Never mare returned some eye-catching performances during her three-year-old season and wasn’t out of her depth in Group 1 company.

She clearly needed her first run back this time when finishing down in the order in the Group 2 Blazer Stakes, but she was better over a mile in the Tesio Stakes at The Valley.

Fitter again and out further in trip, I think that she can make an impact, and we can have an each way play at price.

Listed G.H. Mumm Century Stakes (1000m) – 3:50pm AEDT
No. 5 Joyful Fortune

Joyful Fortune was out of his depth in The Everest, but he was an impressive winner down the straight at his start prior, and this looks a far more appropriate race for him.

The Mark Newnham-trained sprinter produced some memorable performances during his time in Hong Kong, and he stamped himself as one to watch in Australia when debuting back in September.

Fitter third-up and back to ideal conditions, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.

Melbourne Cup Carnival Country Final (1600m) – 4:30pm AEDT
No. 14 Toregene

Toregene was scratched at the barriers at her most recent appearances, but she has still managed to gain a start in the annual Country Final, and she is the one that I want to be with.

The Mongolian Khan mare has been a great horse for the Matty Williams yard since debuting, recording three wins from just four starts.

Her resuming effort to strike at Cranbourne was excellent and she should only improve into this contest.

Group 1 Kennedy Oaks (2500m) – 5:10pm AEDT
No. 4 Pavitra

Some talented fillies will chasing Group 1 glory in the 2022 Kennedy Oaks!

I’ve run the rule over the field and put Pavitra on top, and you can find my full preview and complete 2022 Kennedy Oaks Tips RIGHT HERE.

Group 3 Red Roses Stakes (1100m) – 5:50pm AEDT
No. 5 Exo Lady

I’m really keen to see leading Queenslander Exo Lady take on some southern talent for the first time on Thursday and I’m keen to have something on in the Red Roses.

The Exosphere filly has been a great horse for the Desleigh Forster yard since making her debut and won the Dalrello Stakes in April before only just missing in Group 2 company.

She made up plenty of ground to finish third, beaten only half a length over 1200m at Eagle Farm when resuming this time and is another who should enjoy big improvement into her second campaign task.
