After some dicey Champions League score lines, we are treated to some great EPL match ups this weekend!
2nd plays 3rd at Etihad Stadium on Saturday Night/ Sunday Morning when the Spurs look to rattle Man City, Arsenal look to hold onto the top of the table when they take on Everton.
Liverpool will be keen to shake off an embarrassing Champions League fixture against Napoli when they take on Wolves and Chelsea v Fulham will be an interesting watch as the first game in the post Tuchel era kicks off on Saturday night.
We’ve previewed all 10 EPL contests across the weekend and provided our best betting plays below!
Thomas Tuchel is gone! In a surprise that took the footballing world by storm. The Chelsea Gaffer was given his marching orders after the teams 1-0 loss in the CL to Dinamo Zagreb.
The don’t muck around at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea will be looking to put this drama behind them when they face 10th place Fulham in the first game of the round.
The New Blue in town Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will play his first Premier League game after coming across from Arsenal in what should be a fairly straight forward affair for Chelsea.
I like Chelsea in this one. Was the sacking of Tuchel an over reaction? Maybe but I see them brushing it off and getting back to business against a Fulham outfit that has stuck with a lot of big teams this season. They drew with Liverpool & Wolves and haven’t lost a game by more than a margin of one this year so that’s something to consider.
However I’m taking Chelsea at -1 in this one and see 3-0 as a huge possibility.
Brighton have been sneaky good so far this season and if the league were to finish today. They would be playing Champions League next season.
United, West Ham, Leeds and Leicester are some of the teams they have beaten this year and you would imagine that they should keep that momentum coming when they take on a Bournemouth team that has struggled early in this years Prem.
Granted, Bournemouth did get a 3-2 win against Forest as well as a draw with Wolves but we’ve seen just how low their floor can be in that 9-0 drubbing against Liverpool.
I like Brighton and I think they should get the wood over Bournemouth in this one comfortably.
Liverpool were embarrassed by Napoli on Thursday morning in the Champions League and will be looking to turn their fortunes around with a matchup with Wolves who the bookies are tipping that they should beat convincingly.
The Reds have won their last 9 games against Wolverhampton and the bookies have Wolves at $10 to steal three points from the Scousers.
Liverpool -1 just makes a lot of sense in this one. They will be looking to put the 4-1 loss to Napoli behind them and all though they have struggled to play at their best this season. I can see Liverpool getting a convincing win on Saturday night and getting their season back on track.
Keep an eye out for Mo Salah in this one, he’s been very quiet for his standards recently and I think a comeback game could be on the cards here.
8th plays 12th when Southampton take on Brentford at Midnight on Sunday morning.
The Bees are coming off an emphatic 5-2 victory against Leeds and how can we forget that 4-0 thrashing of United!
When it rains, it pours for Brentford. They’ve scored 4+ goals in both their victories this season but have struggled in their other fixtures with three draws and a loss to Fulham.
Southampton have also been a more cold than hot team this season with two wins a draw and 3 losses to start their campaign.
I see this one being a grind and that’s why I’m leaning towards a draw. Brentford have shown incredible flashes but need to be pinching points in matchups like this if they want to have a successful campaign.
This one could well and truly go either way.
Leicester who are yet to get a win this season take on Aston Villa who just have the one win over Everton to their name so far.
The vultures are starting to circle for Leicester Coach Brendan Rodgers and a loss to Villa in this one could be a nail in the coffin.
They just haven’t looked the same without Kasper Schmeichel between the sticks and have already conceded 6 goals in September alone.
That being said, I’m tipping a bounce back in this game. Villa haven’t looked great this season either and if Leicester can’t get it done this weekend there could be huge ramifications for the club.
I’m getting behind them and cheering on a big return to form.
Very easily the game of the round.
The last two undefeated teams go at it early on Sunday morning and it’s one to set your alarm for.
Haaland has been on an absolute rip and tear so far this season and is currently the golden boot front runner with 10 goals already this year. Sitting in 3rd place is the Spurs frontman Harry Kane and it’s hard to think this one will be a 0-0 draw.
Despite the teams being 2nd and 3rd. The bookies don’t give Tottenham much of a chance in this one. They’re currently $7.25 to beat City but anything can happen especially when you have such a force like Harry Kane up top.
I can’t pick a result in this one but I do know that Haaland will have his name on the team sheet and that’s why I’ve backed him anytime in this matchup.
Newcastle, who have just the one win to their name take on West Ham who are currently in the relegation zone in a week 7 contest that could go any way.
Their last outing was a goalless draw with Palace and they currently have a 1-4-1 record on the year which has kept them smack bang in the middle of the table.
West Ham however have struggled so far this season and will be backing up after a Europa League fixture with Romanian side FCSB.
Fatigue may play a factor in this one and I am writing it before the Europa League fixture but I am leaning towards a Newcastle win. They’ve hung with the big dogs this year. The 3-3 draw with City comes to mind and I think that they should outclass the Hammers in this one.
Top of the Table Arsenal take on Everton who are the only other team outside of Leicester who are yet to win a game this season.
Arsenal failed to make it 6 in a row last weekend with a 3-1 loss to United but I can’t see them making a trend of that and I believe that this one could get ugly against and Everton outfit that has been fighting for their life in recent times.
Everton got out of the Merseyside derby with a point last weekend but I think they will struggle against Arsenal who have started this season better than anyone.
I’m predicting a runaway score line in this one 4-0 Arsenal is in the realm of possibility and Everton could be staring down the barrel of the relegation zone once again.
Is United’s season back on track yet? Their on a four game win streak and it’s hard to argue with them at the moment.
They take on a 1-3-2 Crystal Palace outfit who have only beaten Aston Villa this season.
United H2H looks like incredible value at $2.05 and I am struggling to find an argument for them not to get three points against Palace.
They broke Arsenal’s unbeaten streak last week and I believe they’ll keep that momentum rolling in this one.
The final game of Week 7 kicks off Tuesday 5am Australia time
Leeds will be looking to shake off their 5-2 loss to Brentford and it’s hard to see them not doing that against a Forest team that’s lost three games on the trot.
Leeds only have two clean sheets to their name this season and all though they are heavy favourites. I can see them conceding a goal to Forest in this one at some point.
I think they will win and I’m taking them at $1.75 but I’m also considering the Over 2.5 goal market in a multi which would get you a cheeky two leg value multi @ $2.44
