Flemington: Race 4 (2:25pm)
No. 5 Argentia

Argentia will finally make her eagerly awaited return in the Rose Of Kingston Stakes at Flemington today, and it looks the perfect launchpad for her.

The Frankel mare has recorded two wins and as many second placings from her six career starts to date, both victories coming at this point of her preparation.

She’s drawn ideally under Damien Oliver and will take plenty of beating.

Randwick: Race 6 (2:45pm)
No. 1 Fireburn

I thought that Fireburn was absolutely outstanding in the Golden Rose last weekend, and I like that she is on the short back-up in the Flight Stakes.

The Rebel Dane filly was the standout of her age group during the recent Autumn Carnival, winning five races in succession, including both the Golden Slipper and the Inglis’ Sires, before only just missing the Triple Crown when second behind She’s Extreme in the Champagne Stakes.

She kept coming last weekend and was less than two lengths behind Jacquinot, and the mile at this point of her campaign looks ideal.

Randwick: Race 8 (4:05pm)
No. 6 Fangirl

Fangirl is the one that I want to be with in this year’s Epsom Handicap.

Her fresh run this time for second behind Anamoe in the Winx Stakes was nothing short of outstanding, but she was a little flat in the George Main last time out – something that she has experience at that point of her preparation previously.

Fitter third-up, from the good draw and under Tommy Berry, I think she’ll be right in the finish.

Flemington: Race 7 (4:25pm)
No. 11 Young Werther

The Turnbull Stakes is an ideal Group 1 target for Young Werther, and he looks a touch of overs in my opinion at around the $12 mark (at publish).

Young Werther was excellent during his spring preparation last year, and he went within half a length of an enormous upset over Incentivise in this race, most notably.

He has been set for a tilt at the Melbourne Cup this time, and he can make a statement by winning something of this quality at the same location.
