Golden Rose Day is one of the highest of the Sydney Spring Carnival and ten races will be run and won at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday!
There’s plenty of value to be found in our markets but before you have a bet, check out my complete 2022 Golden Rose Day Tips below.
Still In Fashion makes his return to the races in this week’s Highway race and looks a key winning chance.
The Redoute’s Choice gelding raced consistently last time in, and ended his prep third in a similar race to this one at Randwick.
This will be his first start under the care of Mitchell Beer, and he is drawn to receive every chance under Chad Schofield.
Oakfield Duke can continue his exceptional career start in the Midway.
The Into Mischief gelding finished third, beaten less than half a length on debut at Wyong back in June and hasn’t looked back, winning each of his four subsequent starts in impressive fashion.
This is the hardest task that he has been set, but he looks up to it, and I like that Kristen Buchanan is sticking with jockey Aaron Bullock.
This is actually quite a good race and there is a case to be made for a few of them, including Yaletown.
Yaletown was excellent during his three-year-old season, winning the Tulloch Stakes most notably and ending his prep with a run in the Derby, albeit a failed tilt.
He needed his first run back when fifth over a mile at Randwick earlier this month, but I am expecting big improvement this week, and the 1900m suits.
The Maher & Eustace stable will launch a smart two-pronged assault in the Colin Stephen Quality, but Cadre Du Noir looks to have found his best form, and he’s the one that I am going to be with.
The War Front gelding has improved noticeably with each start back this time, culminating in consecutive wins at Randwick, including a Listed race most recently.
A repeat of that effort, which saw him greeting the judge nearly six lengths ahead of his rivals would be enough again.
Solar Apex hasn’t missed the placings in five previous fresh attempts, and this looks a lovely launchpad for him.
The Deep Impact gelding was a typically strong and consistent performer last time in, finding form around some good horses in some good races.
He’ll enjoy some relief in the weights under Dylan Gibbons this week and with even luck, he can build on that impressive first-up record. He’s another whom we can have something on each way.
Swiss Exile was flat in the Run To The Rose last time out, but that was about the only poor performance that he has returned since debuting, and I am happy to give him another chance in the Heritage Stakes.
The Pariah colt stamped himself as one to watch during an impressive two-year-old season in which he won the Group 2 Champagne Classic in Brisbane, before ending his prep second in the Group 1 JJ Atkins.
His resuming effort this time for third in the San Domenico Stakes was full of merit, and he has plenty of upside.
The Golden Pendant really does look the perfect race for Jamaea and I am more than happy to stick with her.
The Headwater filly has been a model of consistency for the Price yard throughout her career and has picked off some lovely races.
Her first-up effort for second in the Toy Show Quality was great, and she kept her best work for late when fourth in beaten just over half a length in the Theo Marks last time.
Fitter third-up and from the good draw, she should have any excuses!
This is set to be an outstanding edition of the Golden Rose and some of the country’s best three-year-olds are engaged!
I’ve put Victorian raider Jacquinot on top, but be sure to check out my full race preview and complete 2022 Golden Rose Tips RIGHT HERE.
Very interesting but excellent placement from trainer Enver Jusofovic in my opinion, and Pinstriped will take a power of beating in the Shannon Stakes.
Pinstriped stormed onto the scene during his three-year-old season, winning his first three career starts including the CS Hayes Stakes, before running a luckless fifth in the Australian Guineas.
He came from the tail of the field to finish second behind a fit Scallopini in The Sofitel when resuming this time, and he’ll only improve for that effort.
Assuming he handles the Sydney way of going, I think he’ll just win.
Ebhaar looks a winning chance in a light weight in the last on Golden Rose Day.
The I Am Invincible filly was too good for them in a midweek BM72 contest at Warwick Farm second-up from a spell, and she was last seen filling the minors in spring at Newcastle.
She steps out this week in peak order and is drawn to receive every chance from barrier 4.
