It’s all going down this weekend. UFC 278 is shaping up to be a huge pay-per-view. The number 1 pound for pound fighter, Kamaru Usman will defend his title against Leon Edwards which will be a monster welterweight rematch.
Paulo Costa and Luke Rockhold share the octagon in the Co-Main event and it will be Rockhold’s first fight since 2019.
There is plenty to love on this card and we’ve run our eye over the markets to find some value for you too.
Our full UFC 278 Tips & Preview can be found below.
The last time they met was only a three round bout and Usman got the chocolates by decision.
It was a brutal contest with a lot of grappling as well as a striking masterclass.
Both fighters showed that they could eat shots, dish them back out and control one another with the grapple.
But I can’t see a world where Leon beats Kamaru.
He’s had one fight in the last three years, which granted was a decision win against Nate Diaz but Diaz is not the #1 Pound for Pound fighter.
I’m backing Usman to absolutely belt him in this one.
Usman is a much better fighter than when they met in 2015 and I don’t think it will go the distance.
Both Costa and Rockhold make their returns to the octagon after long spells away in what will be a very exciting Co-Main Event.
Previously slated for UFC 277 but postponed so Costa could make weight, the two will finally get to go at each other.
I think there’s reason to read into Costa struggling to make weight.
Costa is a massive favourite to win and win by KO but he hasn’t knocked anyone out since 2018 when he KO’d Uriah Hall in a brutal fashion at UFC 226.
He either breaks that trend or this one goes the distance and there is huge value there.
Two fighters that haven’t been in the ring for ages and one that needed the fight to be postponed to make weight.
Not to mention this fight is only 3 rounds.
Costa by points at $6 is VALUE. Value that I love.
Future Hall Of Famer José Aldo takes on Georgian up-and-comer Merab Dvalishvili (Looking forward to Joe Rogan pronouncing that one) in a Bantamweight brawl that could see the winner earn a title shot.
It’s 4th vs 8th and the two strikers are very evenly matched but I think I’m rolling with experience in this one.
Granted. Merab has won 7 in a row but Aldo has looked incredibly good in his last three fights and I can see the 35 year old having one last push for a title shot.
$2.15 is a pretty decent price and I’m keen to have a crack on the underdog.
