Premier League Game Week 4 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 4 Tips & Preview

Following three wild weeks of Premier League action, Chelsea, Man United, and Liverpool all find themselves dwelling in the bottom half of the table!

Meanwhile, perennial laughing stock Arsenal remains the only side to hold a perfect record. Oh, how the turntables!

Will parity be restored this weekend, or are there a few more upsets on the cards?

We’ve previewed all 10 Premier League fixtures and provided our best betting plays below!

SOUTHAMPTON VS MAN UTD
Over 2.5 Goals & both Martial & Rashford 1+ SoT $2.77

Both Southampton and Man U will be looking to secure back-to-back victories when they meet at Saint Mary’s Stadium this weekend.

The Saints came from a goal down to defeat the Foxes away last week, with Che Adams scoring twice in the 2nd half to cancel out a well-taken Maddison free-kick.

Alternatively, United surprised the wider footballing community when they bettered Liverpool 2-1, with goals from scrutinised wingers, Sancho and Rashford.

That was the first time Man U has claimed 3-points against their bitter rivals since 2018, with the victory giving fans just a glimmer of hope to latch onto.

Though, it can easily be argued that it was the Reds’ incompetency that gifted United the W, with Klopp’s side clearly hampered by injuries and suspensions.

Over 2.5 goals have been scored in all six league games this pair has been a part of this season, with both sides conceding seven times across the trip.

Man U’s opening two performances still have me weary of backing them outright here, instead, I’ll be jumping on Over 2.5 Goals to hit and both Martial and Rashford to test the keeper at some point.

BRIGHTON VS LEEDS
Under 2.5 Goals $1.98

Next up, Brighton and Leeds both attempt to remain undefeated when they meet at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls have been playing some extremely attractive football over the opening three weeks, and completely outclassed West Ham on their way to a 2-0 victory last time out.

They’ll face a Leeds unit who are flying high following a stunning 3-0 win against the Blues, in a game which saw Rodrigo resister his fourth goal of the young season.

These two sides have only faced each other on four previous occasions in the top flight, with Brighton remaining undefeated across the trip (2W,2D).

Brighton is the better team here, but their scoring woes bring an element of risk to backing them outright, though there is decent value to be had in jumping on the Unders, especially considering only five goals have been scored across the last four H2H’s between the two minnows.

CHELSEA VS LEICESTER
Chelsea to Win & Over 2.5 Goals & Sterling SoT $2.39

Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from an embarrassing GW3 performance when they welcome the Foxes to Stamford Bridge.

Leicester is currently sitting 19th on the table after picking up one competition point across the open three fixtures while managing to concede a league-high eight goals!

The Blues’ usually formidable defense has also looked shaky, conceding five times across their last two fixtures.

The Foxes seem to be a club in turmoil at the moment, it is clear to see that the squad has stopped fighting for Brendan Rodgers, with multiple players are looking to force their way out.

I’m backing the Blues to return to winning ways with a comprehensive performance against the 11-man turnstile that is Leicester.

BRENTFORD VS EVERTON
Brentford $2.02

Next up, Everton attempts to claim their first win of the season when they travel to Brentford Community Stadium.

The Bees suffered their first defeat last week against Fulham, though points against both United and Leicester still have their fans buzzing.

The Toffee’s have scored just twice across their three opening fixtures and without a recognised striker leading the line it’s hard to see them improving on that record.

Since their PL birth, Brentford is unbeaten against Everton (2W), and should secure their third straight victory over the Toffees here.

LIVERPOOL VS BOURNEMOUTH
Mo Salah to Score 2+ Goals & Reds (-1) $4.21

After surprising punters on the opening day of the comp, Bournemouth has conceded seven unanswered goals to both Man City and Arsenal.

Fortunately, the league has been kind enough to schedule them against the 16th-placed Reds this week…

Alright, the Reds may be without a win this season (2D,1L), but that only makes things all the scarier for the Cherries, who seem to be content with mailing it in against the bigger sides.

Liverpool has won their last six fixtures against the Cherries, keeping five clean sheets and scoring 19 goals across the trip, eight of which have come courtesy of Mo Salah’s boot.

I’m back Mo’ goals to flow here at the expense of the newly promoted outfit!

MAN CITY VS CRYSTAL PALACE
City to Win & Both Sides to Score $2.78

Manchester City narrowly escaped with a draw last weekend, after their defense was exposed by an excellent Newcastle outfit.

The Toon targeted the right side of City’s D, with Stones and Walker failing to cope with the onslaught from Saint-Maximin.

A tactic I’m almost certain Crystal Palace will adopt, with the likes of Eze and Zaha wreaking havoc.

Despite defensive frailties, City boosts far too much firepower across the park for the Eagles to contain.

I’m expecting both outfits to get onto the scoreboard, though ultimately, Pep’s side will emerge victorious.

ARSENAL VS FULHAM
Arsenal Win & Over 2.5 Goals & Jesus to Score $2.33

The Gunners are flying high, with three wins from three games, sitting two points clear atop of the Premier League table.

They’ll be facing a Fulham outfit who are also without defeat (1W,2D), securing their first win against the Bees last time out.

Arsenal’s resurrection coincided with the arrival of Jesus, who currently leads the league in goal involvements (2G,3A).

I have the Brazilian scoring on the way to helping his side retain their perfect record.

ASTON VILLA VS WEST HAM

Villa host West Ham in the battle of the claret!

Neither side has looked particularly impressive in the early stage of the season, the Hammers are 0-0-3 and dead last on the table, while Villa are 1-0-2, with their win coming against an unbackable Everton side.

Despite losing all three of their fixtures, West Ham has played some decent passages of football and has been unlucky not to pick up a point or three.

Meanwhile, Villa is lacking any real identity under the rule of Steven Gerrard, who has only secured 1.28 points per game since taking the reigns last season.

West Ham has won both the Home and Away fixtures against Villa across the previous two PL seasons, last losing to their Claret rivals in 2015!

I’m backing the Hammers to claim their first win of the season here, with the odds of Gerrard being the first PL manager stacked to firm dramatically!

WOLVES VS NEWCASTLE
Newcastle $2.70

The Toon is on the rise and we are all here for it!

Newcastle sent a message to the rest of the league last weekend when they outplayed the current champs for the best part of 60 minutes.

Although they eventually settled for a draw, it is evident that the richest club in the globe is ready to push for the top 6.

Standing in their way this week is a Wolves side who hold great potential, but who are yet to clique as a unit.

On the current run of form, it’s hard to fathom how the Toon have been priced as $2.70 outsiders here.

NOTTM FOREST VS TOTTENHAM
Spurs to Win & Son to Score $2.55

Game Week 4 comes to a close on Monday morning (AEST) when Forest clashes with the Spurs.

Forest is looking to go three games without defeat following results against West Ham and Everton, though to say they outplayed their opponent in either of those fixtures would be a stretch.

Son Heung-Min is a player I would keep an eye on in this contest, last season’s Golden Boot winner is yet to register his first goal despite testing his luck on nine occasions and finding the target on four.

I sense a big result is on the cards for the Spurs here, with Son overdue to break his 2022/23 duck.
