Daily Racing Tips – Wednesday, August 10

Sandown: Race 1 (12:25pm)
No. 1 Aft Cabin

Aft Cabin has only made one appearance at the races so far, but he looks to have ability, and he can break his maiden at Sandown today.

The Astern colt trialled well prior to debuting and chased home Mioyoshi at Randwick-Kensington late last month, missing by a head.

With natural improvement, this looks his race to lose.

Randwick-Kensington: Race 2 (2pm)
No. 6 Green Flash

I think that Green Flash’s fitness edge will prove the difference in Race 2 at Randwick-Kensington today.

Green Flash finished midfield, beaten just under five lengths by Jojo Was A Man at Canterbury when resuming back in May and has finished second in each of his two subsequent starts.

James McDonald rides from a good draw and this really does look his opportunity to win.

Sandown: Race 5 (2:45pm)
No. 3 Frostin'

Frostin’ rates as a key winning chance in the fifth at Sandown.

The Frosted gelding won in Listed company during his two-year-old prep, and while he hasn’t quite returned to that level since, he certainly hasn’t been out of his depth at this grade.

He has been freshened since his last competitive appearance back in June, and something like this looks well within his grasp.

Randwick-Kensington: Race 5 (3:45pm)
No. 7 Laurelin

Laurelin hasn’t been seen at the races March, but her recent trials were outstanding and this looks a very winnable launchpad for her.

The lightly raced daughter of Lonhro found form around some classy gallopers during her debut prep, but didn’t come up last time and was tipped out early.

This small field suits, the booking of James McDonald certainly doesn’t hinder her chances and I think she’ll take plenty of beating.
