Daily Racing Tips – Saturday, August 6

Flemington: Race 1 (12:10pm)
No. 4 Berkeley Square

Berkeley Square has hardly put a hoof wrong since debuting, and this shapes as a very winnable race for him.

The Territories gelding won on debut at Geelong in May and returned for a close-up second placing behind the talented Boogie Dancer in the VOBIS Gold Ingot a fortnight ago.

With improvement for that experience, he can go one better this afternoon.

Randwick: Race 7 (2:55pm)
No. 5 Skyman

Skyman has been a great horse for the Waller stable since arriving in Australia, and he is the one that I want to be with the in the Premier’s Cup Prelude.

Skyman improved with each start back this time, peaking with a dominant win in the Listed McKell Cup last time out, and he’s another who has been kept up to the mark with a trial.

I think the $9.50 about him in Premier’s Cup Prelude betting at publish is over the odds.

Randwick: Race 8 (3:35pm)
No. 3 Forbidden Love

Forbidden Love went to another level during her autumn prep this year, and she can make a winning return in the Missile Stakes.

Having won the Surround Stakes during her three-year-old season, the All Too Hard mare won each of her first three starts back this year, including the Canterbury Stakes and the George Ryder, before finishing fourth in the Doncaster Mile.

She’s trialled well in the lead-up to her return and boasts an outstanding fresh record.

Flemington: Race 8 (4:30pm)
No. 4 Nicolini Vito

Nicolini Vito was an impressive winner first-up from a spell and can make it two in a row when he steps out in the penultimate race at HQ today.

The Lindsay Park-trained gelding stamped himself as one to follow with three-consecutive wins last time in, including a race not dissimilar to this one here at Flemington.

His fresh effort here was eye-catching and he will only improve for it.
