Ballarat: Race 2 (1:30pm)
No. 1 Citizen

Citizen might not be offered a better opportunity to break his maiden.

The Street Boss gelding was unlucky not to strike during his debut prep, and he returned with a fair effort to finish midfield at Pakenham last month.

He’ll improve for that effort and this looks to be a weaker race.

Ballarat: Race 6 (3:30pm)
No. 10 Sea Princess

Sea Princess strikes a winnable race at Ballarat this afternoon.

The daughter of Sebring raced home well to finish second, beaten a length at Kyneton when resuming this time, and she only just missed here at Ballarat most recently.

She steps out this afternoon in peak order and is another that might not be offered a better opportunity to win.

Ballarat: Race 7 (4pm)
No. 10 Penciled

Penciled faces a rise in class at Ballarat this afternoon, but he was an impressive winner last time out, and this looks the next logical step.

The son of Written Tycoon flashed late to finish second at Terang when resuming, and he proved far too good at Donald last time.

Fitter third-up, he can win again.

Ballarat: Race 8 (4:30pm)
No. 12 Beaukati

Beaukati hasn’t been seen at the races since March, but she has performed well first-up previously, and I am confident that she can win the last at Ballarat this afternoon.

The Brazen Beau filly was a dominant winner at Werribee first-up last time, and she ended her prep with a couple of appearances in Saturday metro company.

This looks an ideal launchpad and she’s drawn to receive every chance.
