Another bye round awaits us this weekend with just six games to assess from a betting perspective.
The round kicks off on Thursday night again with two old rivals in Carlton and Richmond going head to head.
Our full AFL Round 14 Tips & Preview can be found below.
Richmond play their second Thursday night blockbuster in a row against bitter rival in Carlton.
The Tiges head into this clash having won five of their last six with their only loss coming via a six point loss to Sydney just before their bye.
Carlton stumbled against Collingwood but bounced back with a win against Essendon last Friday night.
They managed that victory despite having just one more scoring shot than the Bombers, while losing the centre clearances 8-13 and contested marks 7-13.
Carlton is in a good position through 14 rounds, sitting a game clear in fourth and just one win off equal top spot.
As of writing, this preview the Tigers are slight favourites in a market that changes by the minute and this is a game that has plenty of consequences for both the winner and loser.
I’m tipping a close one.
St Kilda were excellent heading up to Brisbane in Round 13 and despite losing by 21 points, they were in the contest for the majority of the night.
The Saints were forced to play out the game with just two on the bench with Mitch Owens, Dan McKenzie and Zak Jones going down with injuries and concussion.
An inspiring speech from Dyson Heppell was not enough to get his side over the line in their 150th celebration on Friday night.
They were in the contest early but from half way through the second, they were well beaten.
On a rain effected deck the final score line of 26 points probably flattered the Dons and they would need to improve dramatically to be any chance against a St Kilda outfit that is at another level.
The Port Adelaide Football Club won’t play finals in season 2022 after another disappointing loss to Richmond last Thursday night.
A record of 5-7 has them sitting 12th and barring a miracle, their season will end in August.
The Swans find themselves in 7th spot with a record of 8-4 and having won three of their last four which including victories over Richmond and Melbourne.
With the competition being so tight they are only two wins off top spot and a road trip such as this one is very important if they want to secure a double chance.
And that will be enough inspiration to get the job done in Adelaide.
It’s Geelong’s turn for a percentage booster against the hapless West Coast as they head to Perth on Saturday afternoon.
They will need to be ruthless here as percentage may come in handy with the competition as close as it currently is.
They will be just one win off top spot when they beat West Coast and the total points line of 152.5 seems low to me.
Another extremely important clash between two teams that are struggling to keep up with the top 8.
The Dogs have rallied in recent weeks with three wins in a row which included wins over Gold Coast and Collingwood.
While they failed to take four points against Geelong before the bye, they were in the contest for a long way.
Seven of GWS’s eight losses this year have been against current top 8 sides and their other loss came against Richmond who are currently ninth.
They are yet to play Collingwood who occupy the spot above them.
One mark against them is that they have consistently failed against the better teams and the 2021 Grand Finalists are playing some pretty good football at the moment.
After a decent start to the season, the Adelaide Crows have struggled recently.
They snapped a streak of losses against West Coast before the bye but it was a less than convincing performance.
The Suns have split their points through 12 games this season with a record of 6-6 and four of those wins have come in the last six rounds of football.
On their day, they can dominate their opposition and their last two wins have been by 67 points against Hawthorn and 62 points against North Melbourne.
I’m tipping another big win.
