2022 King’s Stand Stakes Tips

It’s the one that we’ve all been waiting for, and Aussie sprinting sensation will take his place in the King’s Stand Stakes field on Day 1 of Royal Ascot.

The multiple Group 1 champion didn’t open favourite in King’s Stand Stakes betting, but of course, he has attracted plenty of patriotic support in the days leading up to jump.

Check out my complete 2022 King’s Stand Stakes Tips below.

Suggested Bets

  • 5 Units straight out #12 Nature Strip
  • Boxed Trifecta of the selections
King's Stand Stakes - Winner
No. 12 Nature Strip

He is the world’s best sprinter, so of course I have Nature Strip on top of my King’s Stand Stakes tips.

The Nicconi gelding has continued to prove himself in Australasia’s best sprints throughout the last season, adding The Everest to his CV in spring and winning the TJ Smith Stakes for a third-consecutive year in April.

He has reportedly arrived in England in fine form, James McDonald rides and anything close to his best would be enough to win this.

King's Stand Stakes - 2nd
No. 5 Golden Pal

This is the horse that opened favourite in King’s Stand Stakes betting and while he clearly has talent, Golden Pal has a long way to go before he’s considered in the same breath as Nature Strip.

The Uncle Mo colt has had eight starts for six wins and a second placing, and that obviously is an impressive start to his career.

His win in Group 2 company in the United States last time was dominant, but this is a rise in class and he just isn’t as good as Nature Strip.

King's Stand Stakes - 3rd
No. 7 King's Lynn

Her Majesty The Queen will be represented by the talented King’s Lynn in the King’s Stand Stakes and he really does look the value in betting.

King’s Lynn has been a consistent performer throughout his career, recording four wins and a further eight minors from his sixteen starts and finding form around some genuinely good gallopers.

He takes his place in the King’s Stand Stakes field third-up and following an eye-catching win in the Group 2 Temple Stakes at Haydock, and that is typically a good form reference for this race.

King's Stand Stakes - 4th
No. 8 Lazuli

Charlie Appleby has rightfully taken a position as one of the best trainers in the world and he’ll saddle Lazuli first-up in the King’s Stand Stakes.

Lazuli has been a great horse for Godolphin in the Northern Hemisphere a few seasons now and was last seen winning the Group 2 Blue Point Sprint at Meydan in late February.

The wide draw shouldn’t prove to be anything of an issue in this contest and he adds some real value to our King’s Stand Stakes first four.
