Pakenham: Race 1 (5:15pm)
No. 3 Sheer Class

Sheer Class has improved with each of his four starts since debuting, and he is ready to win at Pakenham this afternoon.

The Nicconi gelding flashed late to fill the minors at Geelong two starts back, and he takes his place in this contest after only just missing here a fortnight ago.

He looks to be at peak fitness and might not be offered a better opportunity to win.

Pakenham: Race 3 (6:15pm)
No. 3 Citizen

Citizen can break his maiden first-up at Pakenham this evening.

The son of Street Boss placed at his first two career starts, only just missing at Mornington when resuming last time, and he was far from disgraced in a better race at Flemington last time out.

This looks an ideal launchpad for him, and he certainly looks up to winning.

Pakenham: Race 6 (7:45pm)
No. 3 Mamool

This looks to be one of the more open races on the program, and a horse like Mamool rates as a key winning chance, at a nice price ($9.50 at publish).

Mamool didn’t measure up in a 1400m handicap at Flemington last time out, but his form prior was good, and included a handy win here at Pakenham two starts back.

He’s rock-hard fit, and a repeat of that winning effort would find him hard to toss again.

Pakenham: Race 8 (8:45pm)
No. 2 Captain Corelli

Captain Corelli takes winning form into the last at Pakenham tonight, and this looks a great opportunity for him to make it two in a row.

The son of Tavistock kept his best work for late into second here two starts back, and he was far too good for them last time out, eased up late to salute by just under two lengths.

He’s at peak fitness and with even luck, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.
