Week 10 of the Super Rugby Pacific season is ‘Super Round’, and all six matches will be contested at Melbourne’s AAMI Park from Friday night.
We’ll be treated to some eagerly awaited showdowns between Australian and New Zealand clubs, and there looks to be some nice value to be found in Super Rugby Pacific betting.
You can find my complete Super Round Pacific Round 10 Tips below.
The Chiefs take on the Waratahs first-up on Friday night, and I think that the bookies might have gotten this one wrong.
The Chiefs have been typically competitive this season, and Kiwi teams to deserve their favouritism almost every time that they play Australian teams, but the $1.08 looks unders, in my opinion.
The Waratahs have been far better in 2022, and with several young players really starting to find their feet, their future looks bright.
The Chiefs can and probably will win this, but the Waratahs are certainly good enough to finish within 17.5 points.
This shapes as one of, if not the best contest in Round 10 of Super Rugby Pacific and at publish, nothing separates Moana Pasifika and the Western Force in betting.
Moana Pasifika has won just one of the eight matches so far, and their recent form has left a little to the imagination. They take their place in this game following another hiding, this time at the hands of the Chiefs.
The Force have won just two matches in 2022, but they have been in the contest more often than not, and that record isn’t a fair indication of their season.
This is the perfect opportunity for the Force to bounce back.
The Blues have opened clear and justifiable $1.01 favourites to defeat the Fijian Drua in Melbourne on Saturday.
The Blues usurped the Brumbies atop the Super Rugby Pacific table following their Round 9 win over the Crusaders, and they line up opposite a team who have won just once, and are elevated off the bottom of the table by for and against, alone.
This looks an open and shut case.
The Hurricanes have also opened clear favourites ahead of their match with the Reds on Saturday night, and I am going to back the upset.
The ‘Canes have returned some pleasing performances in 2022, but they’re far from the strongest Kiwi club this season, and they did memorably lose to Moana Pasifika.
The Reds, meanwhile, have recorded seven wins from their eight matches to sit third overall, and I think that they will relish their underdog status this week.
The Brumbies are another ‘roughie’ whom I’m eager to back in Round 10 of Super Rugby Pacific.
They have been the Aussie benchmark again this season, the Brumbies only relinquished their competition lead last week, when the Blues recorded a dominant win.
The Highlanders, meanwhile, have clearly been the worst of the New Zealand teams, and have recorded just one win from their eight matches.
The Highlanders’ favouritism is genuinely only a result of the New Zealand premium, and I am more than keen to take them on.
At publish, the market has the Crusaders as a $1.01 favourite to beat the Rebels ($21) and somehow, I still think that is overs.
There isn’t a lot to say about this, other than there being a huge difference in class, and I can’t foresee any result materialising other than a very, very comfortable Crusaders victory.
