Canterbury: Race 2 (1:25pm)
No. 2 London

London has opened a warm favourite in betting ahead of the second at Canterbury, and he can break his maiden.

The Capitalist colt has made just one appearance at the races so far, and finished two lengths fourth behind the likes of Fireburn and Revolutionary Miss.

That obviously reads extremely well for something like this, and the booking of the in-form Brenton Avdulla also doesn’t hurt his chances.

Canterbury: Race 4 (2:35pm)
No. 6 Smirk

Smirk will take plenty of improvement into her second campaign start at Canterbury today, and she’ll take a power of beating.

The Preferment filly broke her maiden at Newcastle in October and was immediately sent for a break, and she almost picked up where she left off with another eye-catching run for second at Newcastle earlier this month.

The rise in trip suits and she is my best bet of the day.

Canterbury: Race 7 (4:20pm)
No. 2 Broken Hill

Broken Hill hasn’t been seen at the races since December, but this is a genuine drop in class from his most recent start, and he can make a winning return.

The Lonhro colt finished third, beaten half a length on debut here in November, and broke his maiden before finishing down the order at Listed level.

I thought that there was a lot to like about his recent trial at Warwick Farm, and he looks forward enough to strike.

Canterbury: Race 8 (4:55pm)
No. 3 The Art Of Flying

I am confident that The Art Of Flying will win the last at Canterbury today.

The Flying Artie gelding returned a pleasing effort to finish third in the Inglis Sprint at Flemington when resuming, and he put paid to them here last time out.

This is a slightly harder task, but he has plenty of upside, and I’m happy to stick with him.
