Daily Racing Tips – Wednesday, March 9

Sandown: Race 5 (4:50pm AEDT)
No. 4 Pal D'Oro

The consistent Pal D’oro has been freshened since his last-start effort for second here at Sandown, and I think that he’ll prove tough to beat.

The Medaglia D’oro gelding hasn’t missed placing at his last four trips to the races, winning twice, including a BM64 contest at Caulfield in January.

He boasts a class edge over most of these rivals, and anything close to his best would see him into the finish.

Canterbury: Race 8 (5:50pm AEDT)
No. 3 Zarastro

Zarastro will make his eagerly awaited return in the last at Canterbury today, and I’m confident he’ll build on his impressive fresh record.

The I Am Invincible colt ran second to Paulele on debut in late 2020 and was immediately put away, and he returned in October for consecutive wins here and at Rosehill.

His two recent trials were outstanding, and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.

Sandown: Race 7 (6pm AEDT)
No. 4 Austrata

Austrata will take plenty of beating in Race 7 at Sandown today.

Chris Waller was pleased with the talented import’s work prior to his resumption this time, and the horse kept on to the line well to finish third behind Gentleman Roy at The Valley first-up.

He takes his place in this contest following another smart run for second at Pakenham, and I am confident that he is ready to win.

Sandown: Race 9 (7pm AEDT)
No. 1 Think 'n' Fly

I think that Think ‘n’ Fly will be ready to win when he takes his place in the last at Sandown today.

Think ‘n’ Fly returned some nice performances throughout his spring preparation, and finished third behind Floating Artist over a mile here most notably.

He needed his first start back this time when finishing down the order in Saturday company at Caulfield, but worked home well to fill the minors here last time.

Fitter third-up, I think that this looks his race, and we can have an each-way play at around the $13 mark.
