Daily Racing Tips – Sunday, March 27

Ballarat: Race 2 (1:55pm AEDT)
No. 8 Sugarpiehoneybunch

Sugarpiehoneybunch has returned some nice efforts since debuting, and she can break her maiden at Ballarat today.

The daughter of Rich Enuff has finished second twice in three career starts, and she closed intently to only just miss at Terang last time.

She has been freshened since that effort, and she is up to winning this.

Ballarat: Race 5 (3:35pm AEDT)
No. 4 Hit The Moon

Hit The Moon has returned some nice efforts without winning recently, but I think he’ll get every chance at Ballarat today.

The son of All Too Hard has continued to improve noticeably with each hit-out, and he was last seen filling the minors at Werribee, beaten less than half a length.

He’s rock-hard fit and might not be offered a better opportunity to win than this.

Ballarat: Race 6 (4:10pm AEDT)
No. 7 Hydro Star

Hydro Star steps out second-up at Ballarat this afternoon, and I think this is the perfect race for him.

The Headwater gelding certainly hasn’t lived up to the hype that surrounded his debut prep, but he has been a competitive horse in country company for the McArdle stable during his career.

He was less than a length from the winner at Sandown when resuming this time, and this race looks to be a decent drop in class.

Ballarat: Race 8 (5:25pm AEDT)
No. 7 Murrumbidgee River

Murrumbidgee River hasn’t been seen at the races since July, but he is proven fresh performer, and I think this looks a lovely campaign launchpad for him.

The Fiorente gelding made just three appearances during his debut prep, but won on debut here at Ballarat, and was far from disgraced in city company subsequently.

I think that his class edge alone will take him a long way towards winning.
