Ballot-free entry into the 2022 Caulfield Cup goes on the line on Neds Mornington Cup Day.
There are nine winners to be found in total, and I’m confident that I’ve found a few of them below in my 2022 Neds Mornington Cup Day Tips.
Quintello hasn’t been seen at the races since October, but she flies fresh, and she can make a winning return on Neds Mornington Cup Day.
The Intello mare won each of her first two back last time in and finished her prep with consecutive placings in competitive races.
With even luck, I think that she can win this.
Two horses have opened at even money in Mornington Sires’ betting, and I am going to stick with the Peter Moody-trained Do It La.
Do It La has only made two appearances at the races so far, but she stamped herself as a filly to follow by winning on debut at Ballarat, and she was far from disgraced when sixth in the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce last time out.
Fitter third-up and dropping in class, this looks a winnable race for her.
Midwest will go around a short favourite in this contest and for good reason – I think that he will b winning.
The Zoustar gelding returned a dominant winner at Yarra Valley in November and simply hasn’t looked back, winning each of his four subsequent starts easily.
He has been freshened since his most recent win at The Valley, and he boasts a class edge in this contest.
Evening Glory is ready to strike on Neds Mornington Cup Day.
The Smart Missile gelding has returned three smart performances since resuming this time, finding form around some above-average gallopers.
There is some talent engaged in this contest as well, but this gelding is up there with them in terms of his ability, and he is primed to win.
Rousseau takes winning form into the fifth at Mornington on Saturday, and this looks another very winnable contest.
The So You Think gelding has been in work for some time, but he has continued to return highly quality performances, and his win at Rosehill last time out was amongst the best of his career.
A repeat of that effort would see him into the finish again.
Caulfield Cup ballot-free entry goes on the line in the Neds Mornington Cup, and I think that it will be claimed by Crystal Pegasus.
Crystal Pegasus has always been a talented galloper, but he’s gone to another level this time in, winning each of his last three very impressive.
He gave them an absolute galloping lesson in the Roy Higgins Quality last time out, and he’ll take a power of beating once more.
The Neds Hareeba Stakes is one of my favourite sprints in the season and it’s typically always a great race from a betting perspective.
I think that it’s a perfect race for a horse like Sansom, and we can have an each-way play at around the $17 mark.
Sansom has won some nice races throughout his career, typically earlier in his preps, and I think he’ll take improvement from a fair first-up effort in Listed company at Morphettville.
I am a big fan of Ancient Girl, and I think that Clinton McDonald’s placement has been spot on again this week.
Ancient Girl has been excellent this time in, winning at Sandown, filling the minors behind Barb Raider in The Vanity and claiming a deserved black type win in the Listed Morphettville Guineas last time out.
She steps out this week in peak order, this race is no harder, and I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.
I’m going to give Think ‘n’ Fly another chance in the last on Neds Mornington Cup Day.
Think ‘n’ Fly has stripped fitter for three starts back this time, and I thought that he was quite good when third at Sandown two starts back, but he didn’t show a lot in his most recent effort.
These look like suitable conditions for him, and we can have a small each-way play at around the $13 mark.
