10 Things You Didn’t Know About Paddy Pimblett

UFC London came and went on the weekend and while there was plenty of highlights throughout the card, Merseyside-born Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett once again stole the show.

The Scouser struggled when the fight was standing but managed a first round submission via a rear-naked choke once he took the fight to the canvas.

That is his second finish inside the first round in as many fights in the UFC and there has not been this much hype around a young fighter in Europe since another scoundrel from the region entered the promotion running his mouth by the name of Conor McGregor.

He is a popular young man with plenty of personality and we’ve listed 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Paddy Pimblett below.

1. He Called Out Mark Zuckerberg

After his win at UFC London he grabbed the microphone and had the opportunity to call out his next opponent.

He called out Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

2. He Is A Stoolie

Paddy The Baddy signed a contract with Boston based bloggers Barstool Sports after his first win in the UFC.

His first bit of content was their Answer The Internet segment.

It currently has 331,977 views on Youtube.

3. He’s Not Conor McGregor

There have been many comparisons between the two but when asked what keeps him grounded he replied with a back handed dig at the Irish superstar.

I don’t think we’ll be seeing Pimblett buy any super yachts any time soon.

4. He’ll Never Walk Alone

Being a Scouser, there were really only two choices.

Paddy The Baddy is a die hard Liverpool supporter and he is not shy in dreaming of a massive PPV being held at Anfield in the future.

Built around a card that he will headline of course!

5. Conor McGregor Went To His House To Fight Him

Allegedly anyway.

He tells the story in this clip.

6. His Name Is Tough To Pronounce

Well, for another fighter on the hype train, Khamzat Chimaev, it is anyway.

7. He’s A BJJ Black Belt

There is no denying where Pimblett’s strengths lie and although he is a capable striker, his grappling gives him a big advantage over most of his opponents.

He was promoted to first degree black belt late in 2021.

Who’s Ya Daddy?

8. He Fought Twice At UFC London

Ilia Topuria and Paddy got into an altercation during the lead up to UFC London and luckily someone caught it on camera!

What a coincidence!

9. He’s Not A Fan Of The Sun Newspaper

To be fair The Sun lost a lot of fans when they changed the content on page 3 but Pimblett refused to take any questions from the controversial news outlet at UFC London.

I’m not sure The Sun has suddenly started covering the UFC and attending the press conferences but he didn’t mix his words.

10. He Loves A Cheat Meal

Paddy The Baddy blew out after his UFC debut win and he looked like a completely different man in some of his photos.

He hasn’t been shy in rolling off some of his favourite cheat meals which strongly features chinese food.

To his credit, he had looked a picture of health when entering the octagon so good luck to him in between fights!
