UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs Strickland Tips & Preview

The UFC stays in Las Vegas this weekend at the Apex with another card of quality fights.

Our full UFC Fight Night: Hermannson vs Strickland Tips & Preview can be viewed below.

Jack Hermansson vs Sean Strickland
Sean Strickland to win by decision

Jack Hermannson has just four losses to his name in his 13 fight UFC career and he has wins over Kelvin Gastelum and Edmen Shahbazyan in his last three fights.

The Scandinavian has 17 finishes from 22 professional wins and is the #6 ranked Middleweight in the UFC.

He takes on the #7 ranked Sean Strickland who rides a five fight win streak into this main event fight.

One of his three pro losses came at the hands of Kamaru Usman back in April 2017, but he is undefeated since making the move back up to Middleweight.

His best performance came when he won a dominant decision against Uriah Hall in July 2021, proving that he is very much a threat at the top of this division.

This will be a cracker of a fight but I think Strickland can do enough to get the nod from the judges.

Punahele Soriano vs Nick Maximov
Nick Maximov to win @ $2.50

We have another Middleweight fight as the co main event in what shapes as another fascinating contest.

Punahele Soriano suffered the first loss of his short career in July 2021 when losing a decision to Brendan Allen.

The Hawaiian is a devastating striker which is evident when looking at his record.

Seven of his eight wins have been inside the first round, six of which have been by KO/TKO.

Nick Maximov is an undefeated fighter who  is 7-0 as a pro and also went 6-0 as an amateur.

There is plenty of hype around this guy who comes out of the Nick Diaz Academy in California and there is no doubt he has the foundation for good grappling and submission game.

Maximov won a UFC contract through Dana White’s Contender series and won his last fight via a unanimous decision at UFC 266 in September last year.

If we see him getting through the inevitable barrage of heavy striking then he seems the logical betting play especially at the price.

Shavkat Rakhmonov vs Carlston Harris
Savkat Rakhmonov by KO/TKO or Submission

Shavkat ‘Nomad’ Rakhmonov is an undefeated fighter from Uzbekistan and fighting out of Kazakhstan who has won both his fights in the UFC by submission.

He finished UFC veteran Cowboy Oliveira with a guillotine and Michel Prazeres with a rear naked choke.

Rakhmonov takes on Carlston Harris who hails from Guyana and fights out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He is another dangerous grappler who comes into this fight on the back of five wins in a row, all five by finish.

It is clear that Rakhmonov is a very dangerous and capable grappler but he is very adept in his striking as well and this is where I see him having the advantage.

The grappling will cancel each other out to a degree and I see the fight taking place mainly on the feet.

Shavkat Rakhmonov is a dangerous mixed martial artists and I envision him challenging for a Welterweight ranking in the near future.
