Premier League Game Week 16 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 16 Tips & Preview

Game Week 16 kicks off early on Saturday morning (AEST), as the Hornets travel across town to take on the Bees.

Elsewhere, new league leaders Man City welcome the Wolves to Emptyhad, Chelsea attempt to bounce back from defeat against Leeds, and Ralf Rangnick takes control of his first away game when the Red Devils take the field at Carrow Road.

Our Premier League Prophet has previewed all 10 Game Week 16 fixtures and provided his best betting plays below!

BRENTFORD VS WATFORD
Over 2.5 $1.90

Watford are out to snap a three-game losing streak, which has seen them concede nine goals, only Newcastle and Norwich can boast a more fragile defense.

Meanwhile, Brentford was agonisingly close to securing three points on the road to Leeds, with an injury-time Patrick Bamford strike shattering their spirits.

The Hornets last four league fixtures have all seen more than 2.5 goals scored, while the “Overs” has also hit in five of the last seven matches featuring Brentford.

Neither side possesses enough defensive nonce to consider backing them outright here, instead, I’ll be backing the goals to flow in what should be an end-to-end affair.

MAN CITY VS WOLVES
Man City & Under 3.5 Goals $2.00

New league leaders, Manchester City, are looking to extend their streak to six straight wins when they play hosts to the well-organised Wolves.

The Wolves have scored just once across their last five league fixtures (1W,2D,2L), though their well-oiled defensive unit has kept them in the hunt for European qualification.

Games involving the Wolves have averaged a league-low 1.7 goals per game, with only three from their 15 PL matches seeing over 2.5 goals scored.

I’m backing the reigning champs to get the job done at home, though the visitors should keep this one close.

LIVERPOOL VS ASTON VILLA
Liverpool HT/FT & Over 2.5 Goals $2.01

All eyes will be on Steven Gerrard as the Liverpool legend returns to Anfield, though he’ll be sitting in the opposition’s dugout for the first time since making his debut for the club in 1998!

Though off to an impressive start with Villa, Gerrard’s return will instill little to no fear into the hearts of Reds’ supporters, with their side losing just once over the last 16 matches when facing a former player turn opposing manager!

Regardless of managerial omens, the Reds are in cracking form at the minute, winning their last four league fixtures with an aggregate score of 13-1!

Liverpool has led at the half in 10 of their 15 games this season, With the likes of Salah, Mane, and Jota wasting no time in getting on the scoresheet.

With emotions set to be running high this weekend, I’m backing the home side to shoot out of the blocks and claim a comfortable victory!

CHELSEA VS LEEDS
Chelsea and Over 2.5 Goals $1.85

Chelsea are not starting the round in first place for the first time since game week 6, after getting knocked over by a fast-finishing Hammers outfit.

The Blues will be looking to avoid a three-game winless streak at the Bridge, following 1-1 draws to both United and Burnley.

They’ll face a Leeds unit who have won just one of their last five fixtures (3D,1L) and are in danger of getting dragged into the relegation scrap.

Thoman Tuchel’s side has looked uncharacteristically vulnerable in defense of late, conceding more goals in their last three league games (5) than they had across the opening 12 (4)!

I’m backing the Blues to bounce back here, though they’ll need to rely on goals rather than shutting out their opponents to do so.

ARSENAL VS SOUTHAMPTON
Arsenal and Under 3.5 Goals $2.45

The Gunners will be out to put last week behind them as they welcome the Saints to Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal is unbeaten against Southampton at home across their previous 26 meetings, holding a better streak against only Fulham (27) and Man City (27).

Following a dream run of eight games without defeat (6W,2D), the Gunners have lost three of their last four (1W) leaving themselves on the fringe of the European places.

Arsenal’s last three victories have all seen less than 2.5 goals scored and I’m backing them to add another low-scoring win here.

NORWICH VS MAN UTD
Man Utd to Win Both Halves $3.50

Next up, Ralf Rangnick takes control of his second league as United searches for three wins on the bounce.

They’ll be taking on bottom feeders Norwich, who were humbled 3-0 by the Spurs last time out.

Man U has put seven goals past the Canaries across the pair’s last two league meetings, and while Norwich has shown signs of improvement under Dean Smith, I can easily see this one blowing out again.

The last four United managers have avoided defeat in their first away game in charge and I’m backing Rangnick to continue that trend in emphatic style.

LEICESTER VS NEWCASTLE
SGM: Newcastle or Draw & Over 2.5 Goals $4.10

The Toons look to build on their first win of the season when they travel l to King Power Stadium to take on a lackluster Leicester side.

The Foxes have only mustered up one victory across their last six league outings, as their defensive woes continue to grow.

Meanwhile, the Toons continue to build momentum under Eddie Howe, suffering just one defeat over their previous five fixtures (1W,3D), claiming their first win of the season against a blunt Burnley unit.

‘Over 2.5 Goals’ has hit in each of Leicester’s last four league games, while the same mark has been covered in the previous four meetings between this pair!

I’m backing the Toons to snatch at least a point at the expense of an out-of-sorts Leicester squad here.

BRIGHTON VS TOTTENHAM
POSTPONED

The Conte resurgence continues as Tottenham attempt to string together four straight league wins.

They’ll face a Brighton team on their way to four straight draws!

The Seagulls have only lost two of their last ten matches, unfortunately, they have failed to secure a win across the trip, settling for eight draws, more than any other side over the whole season.

I’d take Tottenham here in a low scoring affair, though due to a covid outbreak in the Spurs camp this game has been postponed by the leauge.

BURNLEY VS WEST HAM
West Ham to Win Not to Nil $3.80

After knocking off then league leaders Chelsea last week, the Hammers have been dealt a more favourable fixture in the form of Burnley.

The Clarets are currently sitting inside the drop zone, following a run of four games without a win (3D,1L).

Despite West Ham’s flying start to the season, their defence leaves much to be desired, only managing to shut out their opponents on three occasions this season and failing to do so across their last six games.

Burnley has uncharacteristically scored three goals in both of their previous two home matches and while I can’t see them knocking over the Hammers here, I’m backing them to at least get on the scoreboard.

CRYSTAL PALACE VS EVERTON
Both Teams to Score $1.95

Crystal Palace are out to arrest a poor run of results when they invite the Toffees to Selhurst Park on Monday morning (AEST).

The Eagles have lost three games on the trot and are quickly toppling down the league table, while Everton broke a massive eight-game winless streak with a victory over the Gunners!

Neither team is playing well enough to warrant backing here, instead, I’ll be jumping on both teams to score, which has soluted in the last three meetings between this pair.
