Finally, Cup Day has arrived, after being IN THE DARKNESS (R9, number 16) thanks to the doom and gloom of the current climate, happy days are here again!
It would be fair to say that this PANDEMIC (R10, number 6) has not been the BEST OF DAYS (R4, number 1) for any of us.
If there has been anything to INCENTIVISE (R7, number 2) the community to go and get the jab, the prospect of being out of lockdown in time for the Melbourne Cup would be just that.
Don’t get me wrong, there has to be some sort of ACCOUNTABILITY (R2, number 10) for what has transpired over the past two years.
There has sure been a lot of RANTING (R10, number 12), especially from my mate Johnny on social media of late, we saw JOHNNY GET ANGRY (R6, number 10) over just about everything, especially during those press conferences when they were NOT TO BE MIST (R3, number 1)
I wouldn’t want to go to Johhny’s family Christmas lunch this year, there will easily be a bit of a STANDOFF (R3, number 7) especially with his brother Paul who works for the government.
PAUL’S REGRET (R8, number 4) is that they probably should have unfriended or muted each other on Facebook during this whole thing.
Perhaps instead of politics, they could talk about footy and reminisce about those high-flying forwards from the 1980’s such as Dermott BRERETON (R1, number 1) and Bernie QUINLAN (R1, number 9).
Sometimes, you just get that feeling that Johnny will NEED NEW FRIENDS (R8, number 9), and I reckon that is a GOOD IDEA (R2, number 1).
Speaking of new friends, I just got a message on Tinder, it reads “Hey you, wanna hang out on Cup Day? REGARDSMAREE (R5, number 2)”
I must say, her profile picture looks VERRY ELLEEGANT (R7, number 4).
I KEEP READING (R6, number 6) that sometimes these dating apps can be a bit dodgy, but the more and more we talk I reckon SHE’S IDEEL (R7, number 19), I just need to be DIRECT (R6, number 5) on what my intentions are.
As for Cup Day itself, I THINK WE’RE DUE (R2, number 7) for a good one.
Many experts reckon its ALL SO CLEAR (R9, number 12) as to who the winner will be, but finding the PRIME CANDIDATE (R10, number 4) to back in the big one is always a hard task.
We’ve turned the corner, it’s time to enjoy everything Melbourne Cup Day has to offer and whoever will be THE CHOSEN ONE (R7, number 6) to bring it home on that first Tuesday in November will go down in history.
Keep on PUN-ting,
The PUN-ter.
