Ararat: Race 3 (2:30pm AEDT)
No. 8 Redline

Redline has improved for each of his three starts since debuting and can break his maiden at Ararat this afternoon.

The Teofilo gelding raced greenly on debut at Benalla and failed to make an impact, but was far better for the experience when fighting into the minors at Warrnambool second-up.

He takes his place in this contest following a credible second behind Rebellious Belle at Geelong, and it does look to be a prime opportunity for him.

Ararat: Race 5 (3:30pm AEDT)
No. 7 Resolutions

Resolutions doesn’t win out of turn, but she has been a consistent performer this prep, and I think that this looks a great opportunity for her to strike.

The Reset mare finished third behind Diamonds And Rust at Geelong earlier this month and was unlucky to be denied by Azoustic in a photo finish, also at Geelong last time.

She’s rock-hard fit and will relish getting out to 2000m this afternoon.

Ararat: Race 6 (4pm AEDT)
No. 1 Category Five

I am happy to give Category Five another chance in Race 6 at Ararat this afternoon.

Category Five returned some nice efforts under the care of Ciaron Maher and Dave Eustace earlier in his career, and he has had two starts since transferring to the Austy Coffey yard this time, filling the minors at Swan Hill most notably.

He’s a few weeks between runs, but he is drawn to receive a lovely run this afternoon and gets some relief in the weights under Shanae O’Meara.

Ararat: Race 8 (5pm AEDT)
No. 10 Mortal Witness

Mortal Witness is primed to strike in the last at Ararat today.

The Star Turn filly has been a good horse for Lindsay Park since making her debut, and she has raced well around some quality gallopers since debuting.

She only just missed at Kyneton when resuming this time and is primed to go one better in this contest.
