Kyneton: Race 5 (3:30pm AEDT)
No. 1 Port Royal

Port Royal hasn’t been seen at the races since June, but he looks well placed to strike at Kyneton this afternoon.

The Captain Gerrard gelding has returned some fine performances during his thirteen-start career so far and has found form around some quality gallopers.

This is a drop in class from what he was contesting last time and subsequently, and ideal launchpad.

Sapphire Coast: Race 5 (4:15pm AEDT)
No. 3 Subtly Spring

He has mixed his form a little this time, but Subtly Spring steps out at the Sapphire Coast this afternoon in peak order, and he does loom as a key winning chance.

The Onemorenomore gelding charged in to score an impressive win in BM60 company back in September, and while he hasn’t managed to strike since, he has been contesting substantially tougher races.

With even luck today, I think he can salute at healthy odds ($6.50 at publish).

Sapphire Coast: Race 6 (4:50pm AEDT)
No. 2 Sly Song

Sly Song will take winning form into the sixth at the Sapphire Coast this afternoon and can make it two in a row.

The Nick Olive-trained mare has returned several lovely efforts this prep, winning two of her last three, but her most-recent effort in BM58 company was eye-catching.

She’s rock-hard fit and can fight out the finish.

Kyneton: Race 8 (5pm AEDT)
No. 3 Dissonance

Dissonance can make a winning return in the last at Kyneton this afternoon.

The Dissident gelding was a consistent performer last time in, and ended his prep with a couple of competitive efforts in metro company.

He has raced well at this point of his preparation previously and with even luck, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish today.
