Our full UFC Fight Night: Costa v Vettori Tips & Preview can be found below.
This is a cracking main event between two highly ranked Middleweights, both of which are coming off losses against Israel Adesanya.
Costa suffered his first loss to the UFC Middleweight champ in September last year via a second round TKO and there were suggestions that he was not fully prepared for the bout.
He entered the UFC with a bang, winning his first four fights by TKO, before beating Yoel Romero via decision leading into his title shot.
Italian Marvin Vettori put together five wins on the trot after losing to Adesanya for the first time back in April 2018 and he was again no match for the champ in June.
Both of these guys are extremely dangerous strikers and both will be looking to get a statement finish.
Vettori is a good wrestler but Costa is a very dangerous submission artist.
I think they cancel each other out and this fight will be won on the feet.
This coupled with the fact that Costa’s gas tank is very suspect means I don’t think the judges will be needed.
Grant Dawson has just one loss on his record from 18 professional fights and that came way back in April 2016.
The 27 year old has won all six of his fights in the UFC promotion and has a finish in three of his last four.
He takes on Rick Glenn who has two wins from his last four including a split decision win over Dennis Bermudez, before returning to Lightweight with a first round KO back in June.
I see this as all one way traffic for Dawson who is a superior mixed martial artist and there is a big gap in the grappling here.
Dawson is a BJJ brown belt and has a very dangerous submission game and can get the finish inside the three rounds.
Aussie Jess-Rose Clark has 10 wins and six losses from 17 professional fights and all six of her losses have been by decision.
She bounced back from back to back losses in the UFC against Jessica Eye and Pannie Kianzad with a third round TKO win over Sarah Alpar in September last year.
Joselyne Edwards made her UFC debut in January this year and fought just three weeks later when losing by decision.
Jessica-Rose Clark is a well rounded fighter who has improved her grappling enormously in recent fights.
She is a gritty fighter and she simply has more weapons at her disposal than her opponent in this contest and represents good value at her current price.
And remember, if she loses via split decision, you get paid as a winner.
