Premier League Game Week 4 Tips & Preview

Premier League Game Week 4 Tips & Preview

The Premier League is finally back following an untimely and unwelcomed international break.

Game week 4 kicks off with a London derby, as Tottenham attempt to extend their perfect start to the season with a win over Crystal Palace.

Elsewhere, Manchester United welcomes back Fergie’s favourite son in Christiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford, Man City looks to continue their scoring streak when they face off against the Foxes, and Liverpool travels to Leeds in what is set to be an end to end thriller.

We’ve previewed all 10 Premier League fixtures this weekend and provide our best betting plays below!

CRYSTAL PALACE VS TOTTENHAM
Spurs Win + Kane Shot on Target $1.96

The game week commences at Selhurst Park, where Crystal Palace plays host to table-toppers Tottenham.

Just three fixtures into the season, the Spurs find themselves two points clear at top of the league, Nuno Santo’s side is yet to concede a goal despite hosting the current champs in GW1.

Alternatively, the Eagles are laboring back in 14th place and are still searching for their first win of the season.

Vieira’s side snatched a point away from the red hot Hammers last time out, despite being outplayed for 98% of the contest, with Chelsea loanee Conor Gallager snaring an unlikely brace.

I can’t see the Spurs’ defense folding under the feeble pressure of a washed Wilf Zaha and co.

With a turbulent transfer window finally behind him, I can see Harry Kane racing towards the 2021/22 golden boot and lifting his side back into UCL contention.

SOUTHAMPTON VS WEST HAM
West Ham $2.40

Despite a draw in GW3, the Hammers have produced some of the most exciting football in the early stages of the season.

David Moyes’ side has scored ten goals (equal highest in the comp) while conceding five, Michael Antonio has been the main beneficiary of the Hammers’ expansive style, leading the league’s scoring with four goals.

West Ham has enjoyed this fixture in the past, remaining undefeated against the Saints across the pairs’ last seven meetings (6W,1D), last tasting defeat at St. Mary’s Stadium in 2017.

Southampton has fought their way to two ugly draws this season and they’ll need a huge slice of luck to nick another competition point here.

ARSENAL VS NORWICH
Norwich $6.20

Reputation, job security, respect, and dignity, it’s all on the line as Norwich look to avoid handing Arsenal their first points of the season!

Both the Gunners and the Canaries are sitting at the bottom of the table with 0 points and a -9 GD, though the visitors have at least managed to find the back of the net once across their opening three fixtures.

Historically Arsenal has enjoyed the match-up, losing twice against the Canaries across 18 league games, with their last home defeat coming way back in 1992!

Saying that this Gunners outfit looks determined to rewrite all the history books and could do so by becoming the first-ever Arsenal side to remain goalless across their opening four league fixtures!

Norwich has looked absolutely horrible themselves, losing 15 PL games straight with an aggregate of 34-2 goals.

All the pressure lays squarely on the shoulders of Arteta and his young squad, and with Norwich at a whopping $6.20, I’m backing that pressure to create me a few diamonds!

WATFORD VS WOLVES
Wolves $2.30

Like Arsenal, Wolverhampton is yet to register either a competition or goal!

But unlike Arsenal, the Wolves are creating chances, registering 57 shots at goal, third only behind Liverpool and Man City.

The Midlands side has won two of their last three fixtures at Vicarage Road and will be desperate to do so again.

The Hornets impressed in their opening fixture against the Villans, though have failed to register a score on the two ensuing matches, losing out to Brighton and Tottenham.

The Wolves have outplayed, the Foxes, the Spurs, and Man U despite losing all three games 1-0, a step down in quality here should see them find the back of the net and secure the first of many victories to come this season.

BRENTFORD VS BRIGHTON
Brentford $2.75

Brentford looks to join Portsmouth as the only side to go unbeaten across their first four games in the Barclays Premier League.

Alternatively, the Seagulls’ momentum was haltered last time out, when they dropped their first points of the season to a well-coached toffees unit.

Brighton has been playing an attractive possession-based brand of football under Graham Potter, and are second only to Man City in completed sequences with 10+ passes.

However, this game style plays directly into Brentford’s strength, who are much more direct on the ball and will happily sit back for large spells of the contest and hit on the counter.

The Bees currently hold the longest unbeaten run (15 games) across the top four English leagues and have won their last three home fixtures to nil.

I’m backing the buzz surrounding the Bees to continue to grow, with a gritty performance at the Brentford Community Stadium.

LEICESTER VS MAN CITY
Man City Win + Ferran Torres Shot on Target $2.03

Man City travels to King Power Stadium for what is set to be the match of the round.

The last 11 Premier League fixtures between this pair have all seen a winner and a loser, with the Citizens thumping the Foxes with seven wins, including their last two in Leicester.

After losing their opening fixture to the Spurs, Pep’s side has completed two 5-0 drummings of cellar-dwellers Norwich and Arsenal.

The main beneficiary of City missing out on Harry Kane has been Ferran Torres, who has been involved in six goals across his last six league appearances.

Leicester have been ravaged by injuries early in the season, with their backline currently held together with gaffer tape, a recipe for disaster against a team of City’s ilk.

MAN UTD VS NEWCASTLE
SGM @ $5.00

Manchester United fans will be out in force at Old Trafford this weekend, with the return of their prodigal son Christiano Ronaldo!

With just one training session under his belt, it’s unlikely we’ll see CR7 taking the field in the starting XI, with an appearance off the bench looking more likely.

The Red Devils have won their last three league meetings against the Toons, outscoring their opponents 11-3 with all three fixtures seeing over 3.5 goals scored!

Should he find the back of the net, 19-year-old sensation Mason Greenwood will join Nicolas Anelka, Francis Jeffers, and Robbie Fowler as the only teenagers to score in four consecutive Premier League fixtures.

Bruno Fernandes has been a fan of this fixture, scoring twice across his last two appearances while turning provider for another United goal.

Every player in Man U’s stacked forward line will be lining up to get on the score sheet here, as such a Same Game Multi seems like the perfect play for this one.

United (-1) $1.60
Over 3.5 Goals $2.05
Greenwood Anytime $2.63
SGM $5.00

CHELSEA VS ASTON VILLA
Chelsea to Win + Over 2.5 Goals $1.91

At the closure of the summer transfer window, it’s Chelsea who looks most likely to usurp Man City as the Champions of England.

Since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, only Pep’s side has managed to secure more competition points than the Blues, add the return of Romalu Lukaku to the equation and the balance of power is now tilted towards the Londoners.

Alternatively, Aston Villa has gotten their season off to a wobbly start (1W,1L,1D) as they attempt to adjust to life after the departure of Jack Grealish.

Six of the last eight meetings between this pair has seen more than 2.5 goals scored, with the Blues claiming six wins across the trip.

Chelsea is a serious title contender this season and should wipe the floor with an unsettled Villa outfit here.

LEEDS VS LIVERPOOL
Reds to Win & Salah 2+ Shots on Target $2.85

Leeds are searching for their first win of the season (2D,1L) as they welcome the Scousers to Elland Road.

The Reds have only lost once across their last nine trips to Leeds (5W,3D), that defeat came back in 2000 as Aussie icon Mark Viduka found the back of the net four times!

Viduka has long since retired, as the Whites now rely on the slightly less efficient Patrick Bamford, who is sitting on 98 career goals and eyeing off triple figures.

Though it’s Mo Salah (99) who looks more likely to crack the ton here, the Reds’ striker has two goals and two assists across the opening three fixtures and looks to be back to his world-beating best!

I’m backing Salah to test the keeper on multiple occasions as the Reds extend their impressive record at Elland Road.

EVERTON VS BURNLEY
Everton + Under 4.5 Goals $1.99

Game week 4 wraps up at Goodison Park as the Toffees look to build on their impressive start to the season.

Burnley has managed to secure just one competition point, unsurprisingly struggling to find the back of the net with two goals across the opening three-game weeks.

Alternatively, Everton are banging them in for fun, with English striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin snagging three of his own, while Leicester outcast Demarai Gray has scored in consecutive matches for the first time since 2017.

The Clarets have done little to improve their mediocre squad over the offseason and I fear their fans are set for a long season ahead.

The last five contests between this pair have finished with under 3.5 goals, I’m happy to give myself some breathing room with U/4.5 coupled with a home win for the Toffees.
