As has been the case with many field events at Tokyo 2020, we have a very firm favourite in today’s Men’s Triple Jump with Pedro Pichardo, and understandably so.
Pichardo has been nothing short of outstanding throughout the last few seasons of competition, but he does interestingly arrive in Tokyo ranked third in the world after missing a few key lead-up events.
I think he’ll win Gold, but he is too short for me at odds of $1.30, so I am instead going to select him as the fold in a Same Game Multi, and pump up my odds with world number two Will Claye winning a medal.
I’m backing Men’s 400m legend and veteran Kirani James to win Gold in tonight’s Final.
James has been in the top echelon of athletes in this discipline for a long time now, and his performances earlier in the program have suggested that he is still more than capable of fighting it out with the best.
Steven Gardiner is under the odds as our $1.75 favourite in my opinion, and I think that James is the one who can knock him off.
