UFC Fight Night: Hall v Strickland Tips & Preview

Uriah Hall v Sean Strickland
Uriah Hall By KO/TKO

We have a cracker of a main event at Middleweight this weekend between two in form fighters.

Uriah Hall comes into this fight riding a four fight win streak including wins over Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman via ‘that’ checked leg kick in the first round in April this year.

Sean Strickland is the #11 ranked UFC Middleweight and also brings in a four fight win streak to this contest including a unanimous decision win over Krzysztof Jotko in May this year.

Hall is an extremely dangerous kick boxer who has one strike knock out power and is always a danger in any fight.

He is a fan favourite because of his fast twitch fighting style and his spinning wheel kicks can catch anyone off guard.

Sean Strickland is a blue collar kind of fighter who fights a lot on instinct and keeps himself in fights by pushing the pace.

He has no problem standing right in front of his opponents and throwing good combinations and he mixes up this with kicks to the body well.

This is Strickland’s first five round fight in the UFC and I am worried about his lack of defence.

Kang Kyung-ho v Rani Yahya
Rani Yahya To Win @ $2.10

We have a new Co Main Event on the card after the Shamil Abdurakhimov pulled out in his Heavyweight fight against Chris Daukaus.

Instead we have a fight at Bantamweight between South Korean Kang Kyung-ho and Brazilian Rani Yahya.

Kang has won his last three fights in the UFC, the last two by split decision but he has not been seen in the octagon since December of 2019.

Yahya has just one win in his last three fights, a win, a draw and a loss.

The Brazilian is a second degree black belt in BJJ and is incredibly dangerous on the ground which is evident in his last four wins, all by submission.

Three of those four submission wins came in different ways as well, kimura, arm-triangle choke and heel hook.

This should be a cracking fight but I think Rani Yahya has more paths to victory and represents good value.

Cheyanne Buys v Gloria de Paula
Cheyanne Buys By Decision

Both these women won their way into the UFC through Dana White’s Contender series and both lost their next fight in the UFC.

This is a pivotal fight for both women for their future inside the promotion so expect a strong showing from both.

This is a fight between two women that fight long and prefer to stand and exchange.

Cheyanne Buys is a pressure fighter who throws combinations and it is for this reason that I think she will overwhelm her opponent to a decision win.
