Russia have opened odds-on favourites in betting for the Women’s Fencing Team Sabre, but I think that there is value around the United States to win a medal.
The US team have been consistent performers in this discipline since its inception, and they have already returned several quality performances in Tokyo, unlucky to lose the Bronze Medal match with Ital in the Team Foil on Thursday.
They can strike back with a podium finish today.
Katie Ledecky has opened a clear and probably justifiable favourite in betting for the 800m Freestyle, but Ariarne Titmus has had her number all week, and I’m keen to take the $7 about her at publish.
Titmus’ rise to glory has been nothing short of outstanding, and it is fair to say that she has been the serious shining light for Australia at Tokyo 2020, winning both the 400m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle, and medalling in the Women’s 4x200m.
She probably would have to go to another level to knock off Ledecky over this distance, but I think that she can.
The Men’s Individual Archery will be decided this afternoon and it shapes as a two-horse race between American Brady Ellison and Korean Kim Woo-jin, and I am eager to take the value around the latter.
Woo-jin has remained towards the top of the sport since first claiming the world’s number one ranking as a nineteen-year-old in 2011, and his record at the Olympic Games is excellent, including a win in the team event here in Tokyo.
I think that the American might feel the pressure of favouritism and Woo-jin will be ready to strike.
