Tokyo Day 6 Tips (Thursday July 29)

Women's Slalom Canoe
Fox to Win ($2)

Jess Fox chases Gold in the Women’s Canoe Slalom this morning and has opened a clear and justifiable $2 favourite.

Fox is the greatest-ever Canoe Slalom athlete, having won no fewer than seven world titles and remained at the peak of the sport for a decade.

She is one of Australia’s major hopes at the 2020 Games, and she can return our tally another Gold Medal.

Men's 800m Freestyle
McLoughlin to Win ($5)

The Men’s 800m Freestyle is one of the more open events on the Swimming program, and I’m going to have a patriotic punt on our man Jack McLoughlin today, at a nice price ($5 at publish).

McLouglin has already made a couple of appearances in the pool in Tokyo, and his performance in the 400m Freestyle Final was particularly impressive, resulting in a Silver Medal (which was almost very nearly a Gold).

He is arguably at his best over the longer trip and the $5 about him could prove over the odds.

Men's 100m Freestyle
SGM: Chalmers Win/Apple to Medal ($5.06)

I’m eager to take on short priced favourite Caeleb Dressel in the Men’s 100m Freestyle Final, and I think that our boy Kyle Chalmers can defend his crown in this event.

Chalmers’ performance in the 4x100m relay to steer Australia into the Bronze Medal was nothing of outstanding while Dressel, pegged as one of the United States’ major talents at the 2020 Games, was only fair at best.

I actually thought that the United States’ anchor Zach Apple was far more impressive, and I am going to have a Same Game Multi combining these two swimmers.
